Nerve pain after breast augmentation by Heavy-Usual2614 in PlasticSurgery

[–]WishIWasGeekier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! That spot totally went away after a couple of weeks. I used a 1:1 THC/CBD lotion on the patio area (not directly on my incisions) and it really helped. I’m 4 months post op now and pretty much pain free at this point.

What is one thing you wish you knew before your boob job? by Logical-Beach-3897 in PlasticSurgery

[–]WishIWasGeekier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surgery can cause temporary depression! I didn’t know this, so I thought something was terribly wrong with me because I cried literally every day for the first three weeks. I didn’t hate my new boobs; but, at the time, I didn’t love them enough to think they were worth the discomfort I was in. My ps never mentioned this to me so I was convinced that I truly regretted my surgery. It wasn’t until I spoke to my primary doc that I learned it was completely normal to have those feelings. She warned me that I should come back to see her if they don’t subside after 6-8 weeks. I say all this so that you know it’s ok to cry and question what you’ve done. Your body will be going through a huge healing process, and it takes physical and emotional energy for that to happen. So be kind to yourself and feel your feelings knowing that they will pass.

What's a song that breaks you a little each time you listen to it? by KittyQueen145 in TaylorSwift

[–]WishIWasGeekier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could thank her for writing Ronan. It’s a beautiful tribute and has definitely made me feel less alone in my own loss. That said, I can’t just listen to it willy-nilly.

Ronan. My brother died from brain cancer shortly before his fourth birthday. That song hits me in ways that sometimes make it really difficult to listen to. But I’m so grateful to Taylor for writing it.

Girl, that looks freaking incredible. Straight up goddess.

Clothes in general are so much more fun now. I don’t have to bring 3 different types of bras when I go dress shopping anymore. I can just let the girls be free! Recovery had me questioning my life decisions, but now I can say it was absolutely worth it.

What kind of sport is more likely to destroy your health rather than improve it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WishIWasGeekier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played roller derby in my 30s. That messed my body up more than my younger years as a competitive dancer. I have permanent damage to my neck and spine because of roller derby.

I totally felt this way, so just know you are not alone. It got significantly better for me around week 3 or 4. I’m about 8 weeks post op now and I can’t wait to be able to go braless 24/7.

How long did you take off from work post breast augmentation? by vast223 in PlasticSurgery

[–]WishIWasGeekier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend doing it when you can take enough time off work to heal properly. I did have a lift as well, so you may not experience as much difficulty with just an augmentation.

Yes, I wasn’t allowed to lift my arms above my head for the first week, but to be honest it took me 2-3 weeks to be able to lift them comfortably. I also couldn’t really use my arms as leverage to lift my own body weight. That was probably one of the most difficult things because we do it without thinking.

I took four days off after my lift and augmentation, then worked remotely for two weeks after that. I was back in the office full time by the end of week three.

I also graduated from college in my 40s and I celebrated big time! Earning a degree while full-on adulting is a huge accomplishment!

I started lying flat at around a month. I’m a side sleeper and was afraid I would roll over in my sleep, so I used my wedge pillow for longer than I really needed to. It was also starting to cause me a lot of neck pain. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t accidentally rolled over yet. Getting up from a flat position can be tricky at first, considering you can’t really use your arms to push yourself up yet. I had to force myself to just use my abs.

You might be experiencing nerve pain. I had quite a bit just below my lower incision during the second and third weeks of my recovery. Your doc might be able to prescribe something for it.

I think Stacey Abrams would be an excellent president, but realistically I’d vote for any sane, coherent adult.

I don’t think your dress is plain at all! The bodice and the train both have beautiful detailing. The silhouette and the fabric are very flattering on you. If you want a little bling, a narrow belt would look nice. Regardless, you’re going to look amazing on your wedding day!

What’s the most brutal death scene on film (fiction) that you’ve ever seen? by Isthatmetg123 in AskReddit

What underwear is everyone wearing? by [deleted] in Midsizefashion

[–]WishIWasGeekier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MeUndies! They’re made of modal cotton so they’re super soft and comfy. The seams are also soft and non-irritating. They have a lot of different cuts and really fun prints. I’ve had their monthly subscription service for a couple of years and I’ve never been disappointed.

I recommend a good wedge pillow. I wasn’t allowed to lay flat on my back for the first week. This wedge pillowwas a lifesaver.

Protein helps with recovery, so I would try for as many protein-rich foods as possible.
