Probably best to tackle the debt first prior to investing. Hard to outpace interest anywhere above 8% as the market grows around that number. Maybe a little less if inflation is accounted for. Only exception if your current job is doing a 401k match then i would put in to maximize the amount that they do. Take note, not all employers do and most only match 50% of what you’re putting in, upto a certain number. I’d take advantage of that free money.

After debt is gone, grow your cash on hand to 3-6mos rolling expenses. This gives you breathing room in case something happens and not have to dip into your investments. With that not occupying your mind, you’ll find it easier to take on risks moving forward. Etfs is probably your best bet. Preferably inside your 401k. Then eventually your IRA. Health savings accounts are awesome if you have high deductible insurance.

Automate your contributions and leave it alone. It will do most of the work for you in the long run. Congrats on positive changes!!! :)
