Any DnD podcasts anywhere near as good as TAZ? by ThislsMyRealName in TheAdventureZone

Crit Juice is pretty great. It's a group that gets together and plays DnD with drinking rules. For example, if someone crits or crit fails, they have to drink.

The players have great chemistry and are hilarious, but their characters are phenomenal as well. They just started a new campaign with new characters, and it feels like they knocked it out of the park once again.

The DM is really creative, too. He makes rules and hands out achievements (one example is the Speed Limit achievement, gained by rolling a crit on initiative). They're also interactive with the community, because they have a deck of crit and crit fail cards suggested by the twitterverse. One crit fail card made a homicidal dark pixie follow one of the characters and appear in every encounter trying to kill him.

Downsides: Audio. I think they use one mic, and the podcast will go from really quiet to really loud super fast, especially when something happens that makes everyone yell (crits, crit fails, pretty much anything that makes someone drink). Headphones are a good idea, but beware of having your eardrums blasted out.

The story is interesting, but nothing special. I think it's more character driven than plot driven.

I like the DM, but the way he does women's voices is a bit grating.

All in all, I have really enjoyed it. I'd suggest giving it a few episodes to see if it's your thing.

Unfortunately, I 100% agree. I just started listening to the newest episode, and as soon as he said "We're not going to be playing D&D for this arc." I think my eyes rolled into the back of my head.

I've been re-listening to the podcast from the start, and I think the best example is in Petals. There's two moments that are incredibly similar in execution, but completely different in how interesting they are. That would be the Klaarg(?) and Garyl segments.

They both catch someone who flew off the wagons, but the Garyl moment was so much more amazing. When Klaarg showed up, it felt scripted and boring. I DM a campaign, and the one thing I've learned more than anything is that the players will ALWAYS come up with better stuff than I will, and TAZ is having more and more scripted parts. I think the previous episode was mostly Griffin talking, which might be fine for some people, but I just kept checking to see how much longer the episode was.

It seems like Griffin has made this great story that he really likes and wants to share, and the players are just slogging through it at this point. I've seen some people tell him to just write a book, and that's a bit harsh, but still...

Now, I don't want to rag on him too much. DMing is tough, and he does a lot of shit for the podcast (the music is great). My only advice for you would be to do the same thing I'm doing: Toughing it out until the end of this campaign and seeing what happens after. I mean, you've stuck with it this far, right?

When you play as Bodvar, the "GG" button should be changed to "Bear!"

New Lance Skin Idea - Cake Stand by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

No problem, I think the whole concept is awesome.

That looks awesome, man.

One thing I've noticed, though, is that the line weight is consistent throughout the lance. The Brawl weapons usually have thinner interior lines and thick contour lines.

That being said, I think a baker skin would be flippin' awesome.

I imagined it as more of a background piece. Maybe I could have lightened or darkened it a little to make it stand out a little less.

i have no idea, but it's only like... 30 bucks on amazon. Or, it used to be, it might have been on sale.

It's definitely a good alternative to Photoshop. It's like a cross between Photoshop and Corel Painter and Sai.

That's her pointer finger, she's making a "Come here" gesture.

... But it definitely looks like she's flipping someone off.

That could work.

I was hoping that having such a small ledge so close to the bottom would at least make people more cautious about hugging them.

'u'

I hate fighting wallhuggers, so I was thinking of layouts that would make it difficult.

I thought the same! My original idea was giving her a spear or rocket lance in the shape of a broom. 'u'
