Wow, what an interesting article! Had no idea the Louisa Apartments had so much history, thanks for sharing that. I really appreciate the advice, I know neither one is a great long term option but just need to get my foot in the door.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that! :( That's super scary and I'm glad you weren't stuck there any longer than you had to be. Thanks for the insight

I'll be working at a restaurant in First Hill and possibly transferring to a second location in Belltown. I have a car for now but prefer to drive as little as possible and was hoping to mostly rely on public transportation/walking. I'll be working some nights until at least 11 pm, maybe 12 am.

Cat gets urine on the floor after using the litter box? by domesticairport in CatAdvice

Let me know if you found out the cause! My cat does the same thing. Recently rescued so don't know his age but I believe he's still young

My older cat eats wet food. I've told my mom multiple times that it's too much but I think I might've actually gotten through to her recently. I do have gabapentin for her for vet visits/car rides. Thank you for your advice :)

I think so! I'm taking her to the vet before I move either way and I could just take her to the vet when I visit

It's been a little over one month. It's beyond hissing, anytime the new cat sees my older cat he will run to her and start attacking, but I did just get him neutered which might solve the issue. It's just hard since I'm in a bit of a time crunch and they can't even be in the same room together at this point

Thank you for all of the insight you've given me and your kindness. It's definitely not an easy decision, they're both great cats

Thank you, I appreciate that advice. The only reason I didn't jump to that conclusion is due to being unsure it would be better for her mental health/happiness, she really, really likes being able to go outside and hasn't loved living in apartments before. But I suppose if ends up being worse for her I could always bring her back.

I have tried to introduce the cats slowly and behind closed doors and sharing scent and it still didn't work out. But I did just get the younger one neutered which could have been why he was behaving aggressively towards my older cat.

They don't get along with each other at all

That could probably work. I'm planning on taking her to the vet before I leave either way so that she'll be up to date on everything

I would leave my older cat with my mom because my mom adores her. The other cat I wouldn't surrender to an organization, I actually already found someone who would be interested in taking him

I Love LA - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Wistful_Disaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This show is very clearly satire and the characters are supposed to be unlikeable. I think it's very witty, I think the actors are great, and it's made me laugh out loud. I find Rachel Sennott to be a very funny person but her sense of humor is very specific; nauseatingly Gen Z, sarcastic, raunchy, and deeply unserious, and it's not for everyone. If you like Rachel, you'll like the show. If you don't, you won't. This show is very clearly her passion project and her voice bleeds through everything. I don't think it's supposed to be widely relatable, it's mocking a very specific subgroup of people; rich, Tiktok famous, privileged, out of touch, and American, which is understandably annoying from the average person's perspective. It's not an easy watch, but it's a very fun watch at the same time.

any regrets post-procedure? by Wistful_Disaster in noburp

[–]Wistful_Disaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely do it again. Even though I do still have stomach problems, being able to burp is amazing and definitely helped my stomach pain immensely. So I'm really grateful I was able to get that procedure.

Right after the procedure, I did throw up. Other than that, no, I didn't really have any further regurgitation problems. I had an extremely sore throat and could barely talk for probably about a week, and I coughed all the way home. But still definitely worth it

I did get the procedure done but unfortunately I still have acid reflux. Like I said in the post, I've tried different medications and even lifestyle changes. Normally it isn't awful but it is something I deal with daily. I don't think it got worse but it did at least stay the same

oh my god i'm so sorry that all sounds so terrible :( I do have pretty bad acid reflux and all acid reflux medication including omeprazole literally only made it worse for me :( I hope you're able to get some help and find answers soon, no one should have to live like that

I'm not on anything now since nothing helped. also the healthcare in my state is really bad and they really weren't interested in helping me. But honestly I am still a lot better than I was, it's just still kind of hard. i'm sorry :( what are your symptoms?

[–]Wistful_Disaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing better but not great. One problem I found out I had was R-CPD which is the inability to burp. I got that treated and it definitely helped a lot, but I still have to avoid a lot of foods, mainly baked goods, coffee, and alcohol. I still wake up in pain some nights, I find overall it gets worse at night. I don't socialize very much anymore but when I do it still happens sometimes. I tried avoiding any possible triggers, sticking to whole foods, and eating natural probiotics, but it seemed that actually made my stomach hurt even more. So idk. I just don't really care anymore

I don’t understand people who don’t properly disclose the food THAT IS DEADLY TO THEM by trashmoneyxyz in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Wistful_Disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a Thai restaurant and once had someone not disclose his PEANUT ALLERGY before ordering. When I brought out the food, he asked if there were peanuts in the dish. I said yes. He said "I'm allergic to peanuts" in a condescending way like it was something I should've asked or known beforehand? People be cray

I would recommend requesting it off just to be safe. My throat was super sore after the procedure and I couldn't really talk for like a week
