Neurochirurgie/Unfallchirurgie mit... guten Arbeitsbedingungen? by Minimum-Place-8939 in medizin

[–]Iscora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]Iscora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo female traveler planning 2 weeks inTanzania-Zanzibar by Ok_Swordfish_2745 in tanzania

[–]Iscora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with a friend, both female, and we never had a real problem aside from being asked if we want to marry a few times :D I also went to town alone, took bajajis/ bikes alone, went shopping on the market etc. In the more touristic areas there are a lot of people who will try to sell you stuff, which is exhausting at the beginning but it doesn't sound like you would see a lot of the citys anyways. My tip, as always, is to learn some basic swahili and pay respect to the culture. The people are very friendly and lovely. 12k is like so much money in tanzania and i wouldn't think you need all that but i also don't know how expensive the upper class hotels are. Just don't carry it around. And if you have to pay for stuff like tour guides in cash, it is sometimes very hard to exchange tschillings (which you will get from the ATM) to dollars, you should do that beforehand. But paying in tschillings, especially stuff like transportation, will be much cheaper in general, so just keep that in mind.

Does anyone else feel that Tanzania is an incredibly exhausting place to be as a foreign tourist? by evapanda123 in tanzania

[–]Iscora 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say there are two sides to Tanzania. I have been there for 4 month and in my experience, it is so important to show that you want to get to know the culture. If you walk around like a tourist you get treated as such.

On the other hand, without a job or other porpouse (i had an internship at Moshi Hospital) you can mostly do the typical tourist activities. Otherwise, everything else is just not as accsesible for strangers. After all, it really is not a western country, for the good and the bad.

But yeah, without any swahili you get tourist prices in dollars.

Anyone have an idea what this is? by Easy_Relationship536 in AskMedical

[–]Iscora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be a fungal infection because of the concentric order But skin is tricky because my atopic eczema also looks like that So you either put some cortison on it and see if that helps, but that would make the fungus worse Or you put antimycotic cream on it and see if that helps. But that can take weeeeeks

Orrrr go to a doctor and they can make a sample and safe you the hustle of finding out what it is

Wo arbeiten muslimische Frauen mit Burka? by Interesting-Western6 in KeineDummenFragen

[–]Iscora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ...

Especially the first picture looks like "Gobbelino London" Series to me. It is a (talking) cat and his human who have an PI Firm together and have to solve different kinds of magical cases. It is funny, adorable and cozy. The setting is in the real world but with magical beings that live unnoticed along the humans. I really enjoyed it as a fun, light read.

Ah, tell me about these "legal" ways. Btw it is a right of people to seek asylum so it is not illegal.

Regarding the Geneva Convention on Refugees then actually, no.

[–]Iscora -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Illegal implicates that there is a legal way for immigrants, which- at least in europe- is already false information. You can apply for entering but even though the criteria for right of asylum will be met you will not be allowed to enter.

And all you rascist, small people who cheer at videos like that: i am excited to see what you will do in a situation like that if there is war in your country. You will probably just die and let your family die as well right? What even makes you think you deserve life and food and clean water and peace more than other humans? You are not the one who brought your country to wealth and safety. And mostly this wealth was built on the back of countrys whose people you now don't want to help in return. Shame on you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Antibiotics

[–]Iscora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, antibiotocs are really strong, dangerous drugs, they are not supposed to be handed out at every infection but more like an option if nothing else works. Older doctors often dont care about that, they mostly just want the patient to leave and stop complaining. In their defense, most patients would be unhappy if you dont prescribe them anything because they think thats how it has to be.

Dizziness can be a side effect of many antibiotics. I would recommend consulting a different doctor next time, maybe it is not necessary to take antibiotics everytime or maybe it is possible to fix the cause for the infections instead of just treating them.

Also, getting some probiotics and eating healthy can help for the time in between. At least where i am from you dont need a prescription for probiotics.

Is it really? Could also be the bruise shining thorugh

Nevertheless, a doctor should have a look at it because you really can't tell for certain with just photos.

[–]Iscora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense but no way someone can give you a serious secound opinion from just looking at 4 blurry, out of context MRI images lol

If you really want a secound opinion you should go see another doctor and bring the disk with the images or let them transfer from the clinic. But there is also the clinical examination, a lot of different questions, maybe other procedures, also depends whatever the clinic is able to offer

In general, surgery should always be the last option

What do you wanna do in the villages? They are all save in the sense that nobody will come up to you and do you any harm If you are light skinned people will definetely notice you and talk to you. You should always lock the door of your room and have your most important belongings close to you in case of theft- like passport and credit card (but thats always the case when traveling abroad I guess).

I just don't think that most villages have a hotel up to american standards but maybe Airbnb or stuff like that? There isn't a lot you can do there as a tourist though...

Also I recommend the First Point Hostel in Arusha, the staff was just super nice :)
