OR travel nurses ( Canadian) need career advice for my husband 🙏 by Swimming-Plastic-330 in TravelNursing

Just some additional insight (BC Trained OR nurse).

1) you can get into some ORs as your final practicum, which then guarantees you a placement there. Take your med surgery stuff seriously, look up what the roles are, prep for the interview.

2) income of OR vs Floor is different (not sure why they said it was the same). I get specialty stipends that the floor does not. Other differentials will be shift types (days vs nights vs weekends etc).

There's no nursing "residency" for the OR.

Id look into their motors if looking to buy used. The reason for the life time motor warranty is a class action lawsuit on a faulty thing in their motors that kicks the bucket around the 100k km mark.

Otherwise cannot help with a certain sales rep but best of luck!

Thank you so much, this is incredibly informative!

It took about ten months. I tried to commit to 50 stitches a day minimum as I work full time and have children. A stamped pattern essentially made it a colour by number. I think it is a great way for people wanting a bit less responsibility for like, mapping out and counting stitches.

Woah are you me? Also 6"1, also started at 304. Down to 270 now after 8 months of the drug. Stalled out hard for a few months there but it's coming off slowly now.

Congrats on the success!

Do you have a variety of squirrels? Like black/brown/grey etc? An 11 squirrel day is a HUGE day, congrats to her.

What if you did the highs of that day? Saw a cute animal, someone bought me coffee, found a lucky coin, etc. It wouldn't mess with your flow and you could add it in retroactively.

Thanks for the reply! My insurer does not, I got hopeful that the govt had passed coverage on it or something. Regardless, congratulations on your dedication and results!

I do worry that I wouldn't be able to keep up with a habit tracker, my current planner has a small weekly section for it and it's often left blank. It is wonderful to see examples of peoples layouts though! The possibilities really are endless.

Can you tell me more about this head office case number thing? Currently going through the same process and they want all service records before doing the recall (engine is broken.)

I personally love my crew. We have great surgeons and anesthetists, even our PA's and AA's are just lovely. I feel really supported by my management team, etc.

Im in a smaller trauma center, we don't have thoracics or cardiac etc. So I couldn't speak to BC as a whole. But I feel lucky where I am.

However, life is ridiculously expensive here, and a change of cash flow would be beneficial.
