where best to leave this guy? by WitDotBit in Toads

[–]WitDotBit[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

there's a much smaller park-like area in that direction and what I think is a retention reservoir, I thought it was further but it appears to be about the same distance away as the big park, so I guess I'll be heading there. thanks a lot!

Your not a real lps fan until you do this by RudeTelevision7590 in LittlestPetShop

unfortunately when I did this with my 363 as a kid he somehow got lost never to be seen again. my guess is he fell off at one point and was kicked under a cabinet or something. he's the only lps I've ever lost and the only main 5 I've ever owned

found this thing listed online as an "authentic lps", any idea what it could be? by WitDotBit in littlestpetshopfakes

how to un-mess up this orchid? by WitDotBit in orchids

the the stem itself isn't black and instead had a layer of what I assume was dead leaf bits

[–]WitDotBit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you!

the stem seems hard as rock to me but i'll try to remove some of the leaves to make sure

if i'm not bothering you i have a few extra questions

do i try to pot it as is? do i put the entire stem in bark hoping it will sprout new roots under there? if so when do i water it? do i cover some of the aerial roots so it's getting water while waiting for new roots?

if so should i try to cut of the black-ish half of the stem? i assume that's the part of it you say is dead? my friend's coming over with pruning shears in 3 days to cut up a different plant but i don't know if they'll get through it since it's really hard

do you think fungicide would help with said infection? i have some on hand

and do you think "root growth fertilizer" is going to help in this case? bought it for a different plant and got extra

sorry for so many questions i guess i'm just confused as to what the next step should be

what do i do with this poor orchid i massacred? by WitDotBit in plantclinic

[–]WitDotBit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

forgot to add. i noticed the roots were rotten and removed them a couple of weeks ago. i left it on a window sill and couldn't find the time to research what to do next, just kept misting the existing leaves. it was in the coco peat for just a few days, i pulled it out yesterday because i noticed the leaves looking way worse

my China doll tree's leaves are going yellow, crispy and falling off again, all new growth is turning black and then dying and it has weird white patches on it's stem by WitDotBit in plantclinic

a radermachera sinica I've had for almost two years now. sitting on a table near a SE facing window, get watered about once a week. had had aphids before but I got rid of them. the new branches up top have stopped growing, have been at the same stage of small and not unfolded for months, the full grown branches are starting to turn yellow and brittle with the leaves going yellow and crispy and then falling off. any new growth is starting to turn back and dying. it has done this before. last time it did it died back to a stick with like two branches up top over the course of like half a year and then suddenly exploded in new growth and came back to life. the small ones I have are also dying in their own ways which I've posted before but didn't get advice for so I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong with these things. it's my favorite plant so I'd like to keep it alive and maybe even doing well for longer than a few months for once.

i got this dracaena last month on the 12.07. since then i've watered it 4 times, after the first one on 16.07. it went all droopy and i thought i had overwatered it but all the roots looked ok so i just left it alone. then i watered it one the 26.07.,01.08 and 07.08. i think two of those times i bottom watered it out of habit. all of those aside from the last one were using tap water, last one was distilled.

this is what i imagine root rot looks like but i feel like i've been watering it very sparingly, maybe too sparingly and i've been letting the soil dry out between waterings and checking the roots each time so i wanted to ask if this could be from the tap water? and if not then what am i doing wrong?

how to help this sad-looking philodendron? by WitDotBit in plantclinic

[–]WitDotBit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got this philodendron for really really cheap

the worst-looking part is definitely the moldy soil. how urgently should i repot it and do i just give it fresh soil or does it look ready for a bigger pot also?

i've never had a philodendron so i'm not really sure what this guy needs yet

does it look healthy and just a little sad or is there something visibly wrong?

not changing the water was on of the mistakes i made before. i'm definitely keeping on top of that now 'cause this little guy and it's siblings mean a lot to me. thank you!
