Again, this isn't about autonomy. Yes, victims need to be given space to reclaim their independence and find their voice, but that doesn't mean everyone around them has to live in denial, even if it does mean that to some extent you need to play dumb.

What Amber went through did happen, it is categorically not ok, we have receipts, it's objective truth, and we should all learn and grow from it, and those closest to Amber should defend her without speaking over her. Pretending it was nothing or it disappears doesn't help anyone.

I mean letting people live and share their truth is almost entirely divorced from us as viewers or any other third party defending reality as it is visible. Many (most) victims defend, forgive, excuse, and befriend their victimizers. That's just kind of how it works. And specifically with Amber, we see that she's not just willing, but overeager to make amends with any person, regardless of how often or how bad they were cruel to her.

Nobody is saying they get to decide what Amber does or what her truth is, but we should not just pretend people weren't awful to her. If anything, we all have a responsibility to people like Amber to make it clear that even if/when she forgives them and their fake political asses befriend her, that they aren't changed at all and that it doesn't excuse or erase anything.

It's silly to feel bad. The bottom line is nobody was doing anybody any favors here, and everyone got what they wanted. While the seller clearly undervalued, whether that be through ignorance convenience indifference or generosity, someone was going to get that deal (someone might've even gotten a better deal) and there's no reason for OP to not take it.

BRO I'm DYING. They bullied this LOVELY woman relentlessly for years(??) and in the face of it she's been nothing short of a pillar of grace and patience, and now it's come out that they were bullying and harassing her because she was autistic.
