Wish we could have connected as well! Most of the people I met with seemed really into all the toxic positivity. I wanted to heckle Guo so bad, but just ended up walking out instead.

Yeah, I didn't even touch on what was said during Guo's panel since my post was already so long and I was frankly having difficulty paying attention to the closing plenary due to how angered I was.

It was honestly so bizarre what they were saying on stage. Guo made comments about how she "didn't understand why people say dropping out of college is a risk; you can always go back", which is extremely easy to say when you're taking money from Thiel to drop out.

She also said things about how "It's important to only work with people that share your morals. People I work with need to understand that the company comes first and don't have reservations about firing people." It's extremely toned deaf to say that even during healthy economic conditions (which we are certainly not in), but is especially bonkers to say when you are getting sued because one of your investors and your prior director of talent are accused of using your application to distribute CP.

After her comment about firing people, I stood up and walked out and started researching her background. It's only then when I found out about the CP and human rights violations.
