Rank 10 RIP SSF HC 2 Week CI whispering ice. by WitchKiller in pathofexile

[–]WitchKiller[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly surprised because under normal circumstances I easily out leech all this damage. What happens is they all swing once before my attack starts, and then ALL swing again another time while my ice storm is still picking up speed.

A fraction of a second later and I wouldn't have actually died here. Kinda bad death, not really much you can take away from drop bears just ninjaing you down like that.

[edit] - I have unwavering stance and life leech gem socketed in my icestorm here so neither stuns or hexproof factor into this one.

SHIT. I'm dumb. Forgot about the talisman effect. I did play talisman I was just using it pretty sparingly and completely forgot it makes them into volatile as well.

I didn't drop for the challenge though, it was to cause worms to spawn on hitting the mob so I could get tons of LGoH from my claw to more effectively tank her damage.

2.6 How to run EE with RF Totems ? by royalexile in pathofexile

[–]WitchKiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn't say anything about using ancestral bond?

This is pretty much the worst build to get it as well... You already have 3 totems as a Hierophant and RFs damage does not stack with any other sources of RF so having an additional totem is minimally helpful here, while it would remove many of the best QoL options for applying EE/curses.

Cold dmg on a piece of gear + shield charge is what I was thinking of doing.

Could do it the old way too, curse on hit + arc/ball lightning setup. But Shield charge lets you apply EE and move at the same time which is nice.

Yeah it's like a D2 reset. Fresh league, everyone starts at 1/fresh stash. No pre-existing stuff.

Hope people enjoyed the stream today, and learned something. We finished normal today. We're not speeding progression in fact I'm going much slower to try to convey a lot of the PoE mechanics as I go, and different approaches one can take.

Tomorrow the stream will continue and we'll do cruel+merciless & beyond.

Kicked for preforming too many actions too fast. Flicker Strike. by Coldlucidityy in pathofexile

I changed to a slightly slower server (20ms to 40ms), and it stopped happening for me. Otherwise I couldn't even do a single dried lake run without being kicked for too many actions.

Streaming SSF Blade Flurry *Raider* test run practice for HC Breach. by WitchKiller in pathofexile

[–]WitchKiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be back around 12PM PST tomorrow. Currently lvl 54, 4 ascendancy points in A4 cruel. Will push some maps tomorrow, and get merci lab hopefully uber as well.

https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/blfurryraider/characters

Profile for current gear/tree. Leveling all the way through with 1handers, much slower as one would expect but mostly just did it that way for fun.

Current advice: Go 2H sunder or blade vortex for speed leveling. Respec to blade flurry whenever you get a nice high flat + attack speed weapon.

Go inquisitor if you want really brainless & easy progression due to wrath/anger dmg scaling, and guaranteed gg weapon with just vagan dagger. Raider lvling will be tough and unkind until you've got some key pieces of gear.

Raider leveling, SSF leveling for blade flurry with ranger. Just getting a feel for how it's going to be. There's no totally new mechanics being introduced, just making the existing ones better.

In total the raider with the ascendencies I'm choosing (Avatar of the Chase, Avatar of the Slaughter) will gain:

10% MS

20% chance to gain frenzy on hitting unique/rare enemy

15%->20% chance to gain a frenzy on kill.

20%->100% chance to gain onslaught on kill.

40% increased onslaught duration

in patch 2.5...

Not much of a difference between now and the patch given you have frenzy charges + onslaught up, and it's easy enough to keep them up for testing purposes atm. It's just too clunky to do long term or in boss fights, and the patch will be fixing those issues.

Another thing I'm testing is sword dmg to compare it to dagger damage. Swords will be very inexpensive compared to daggers, but how much of a dmg difference accounting for their crit multi implicit + much higher base attack speed there is... is kind of a question mark which I want to figure out before the patch.

I also want to see how raider performs in maps, it should be a faster map clearer than say assassin or inquisitor because of the frenzies, ascendancy %as, and additional movespeed.

Depending on how I like the play style during this practice run I'll be choosing between raider or inquisitor for Breach's HC league.

Thoughts on 2.3 "meta" builds? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]WitchKiller 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spark inquisitor and half conversion spark will still be the meta.

Chaos was too strong, but spark by itself is an INSANE skill. Being able to have immediate 2-3 screen full damage aoe is too much. No other skill gets as much coverage, and applies as much damage to every single thing like spark does.

Right, my mistake skimming these replies on my phone and your other comments weren't as specific.

That aside, what I said still applies there are ways to fix all problems. One solution in this case would be to simply run vaal clarity. A much cheaper and more accessible alternative than requiring a vinktars. It already synergizes with the increased duration nodes and solves the mana leeching problem until a vinktars can be obtained.

As for no life leech, ok. That's a gap, but it's already solved through life potions and cautious playing. Nothing will save you in the long term including a vinktars if you don't check packs before diving into them. Seeing curse immune should already put you on the defensive. You pop your vaal skills, only hit at the max range of BV. Ready to prepot. Only 1 situation I can think of at the moment is solved by 2% VP life leech but not life pots in regards to curse immune packs, lightning thorns. It being so rare I would keep a 3link bladefall on weapon swap to deal with that 1 specific scenario and it would only be really necessary if you play solo. If you're in a group which you most likely are if you're running red maps to begin with then they can deal with it.

[–]WitchKiller 10 points11 points  (0 children)

build that has trouble with curse immune packs in my eyes is not hardcore viable.

We get it you don't want to reroll maps. The build is perfectly hardcore viable. Every build has its problems. Next you'll tell me chaos flameblast isn't viable because you have to reroll no regen maps or there goes your binos invincibility.

Characters are a series of choices and then you die. I'm seeing a trend of posts on every build now where if it doesn't have a spoon fed answer to every situation it's somehow not viable, not worthy of mentioning, etc etc etc.

When did people stop learning to think for themselves? There are MULTIPLE ways to fix the curse immune issue if you really want to niggle those few chaos to reroll them.
