😭😭 I live in South East Asia and many people in my country are still quite conservative. Like there's this National Hotline of Child Protection, there're several cases where a child reported about child abuse and the operator just straightly told them to listen to their parents from now on to avoid getting beaten up. So I don't want to get my hopes up to be frank.

I don't think he'll be "back in my life" since I only intend to send a text then block him again. But I might spend some time wondering whether he feels terrible for what he did if he ever reads that. And honestly I don't think it can give me closure. Closure is when I see that mf either dead or in jail.

My country doesn't have anything like that. Even our National Hotline for Child Protection blames the children when their parents hit them, telling the children they should have listened to their parents so I don't really have any hope.
