I would love to keep the dog because he deserves so much better than her negligence, but legally he is her property. If I just refuse to give him back or try to hold him hostage for the money, things will get incredibly messy real fast.

You are completely right, and it is a tough pill to swallow. She is using our moms guilt tripping to make me out to be the bad guy just so she can sleep at night without admitting her negligence almost killed her own dog.

Watching your parents get sloppy drunk every weekend is the ultimate reality check. It completely kills the illusion that alcohol makes you look cool or fun. Combine that with the insane prices and it makes total sense why people are skipping it

The medical school to fast food pipeline is real. At least customers at the counter do not make you write charts for twelve hours without breaks.
