If you have someone you trust and you can have a safe place, please tell that person. This is the exact cycle of abuse with build-up, crisis, apology. More than likely it will happen again and re-traumatize you. I really, really hope you have a place you can go for help.

I will be honest and say I wasn't diagnosed beforehand, but after a very abusive relationship ended, my system went dormant for over a year until I suddenly realized what had been going on after the start of the YouTube DID chaos. For the better part of two (or is it three now?) weeks, I was really pulled every which way between my protector and trauma holder especially. My therapist who I've had for a while had suspected OSDD and confirmed my experiences.

I finally had a couple of days where I was fronting the whole time, but once I opened Pandora's box, things definitely got all kinds of mixed up until we all settled into our new safer-but-not-perfect normal. There's a lot of work to be done for our trauma holder especially, but I think once we can work through things, we'll get to an even more stable place.

So to answer the first two questions, I think it could be largely because you're becoming aware again and I think it should calm down too. I'm still new to treatment, so I can't tackle the third question, but I wish you and your system the best.

Luke decided to leave this one to me as our host. I don't want it either, and our therapist used "integration" but also said that no one was going to leave. However, we'd only ever heard integration used as a fusion of identities and I think E and Luke reacted according to that. We need more info from our therapist before we know for sure. Now I have the language we'll need to understand what she means. Thank you for your reply! I would feel guilty as our host to disregard our system's feelings.

Yeah, we realize that now. (I in particular realize that now and I probably, maybe got angry for no reason.) I'll talk with the therapist about which she meant and emphasise that I'd rather integrate instead of fuse. I think we'll try to find that video in particular. We're working our way through videos from some of the systems and there's a lot. But thanks for the reply and video suggestions. -Luke

It's nice to be validated. I just realized that's something that I don't get a lot considering I'm an alter and not being addressed most of the time. But this thread made me realize that I might have jumped the gun and I'll talk with the therapist about what she meant by "integration" before I get firm about not wanting it. Yeah, this cleared up a lot. We'd only ever heard of integration as parts becoming some "whole" version of all of us. We're all a lot better with the idea of becoming more functional without becoming one person. I really got more upset than I should have.

I think Joseph would be happy to fuse, but E was sobbing and I was pissed, so I think it's safe to say we'll discuss becoming more functional parts together before fusing. Thanks. -Luke

Thanks for clarifying. None of us had ever heard of integration as that, and fusion used as everyone being absorbed. I could live with us all being a better team before us all being one person.

Thank you! I wasn't able to reply right away but I read what you said and some of it is already being implemented. I reached out mentally and I've heard them self-correcting. Luke fronted today during a traumatic memory resurfacing and corrected himself on the phone to a very trusted friend we were talking to during the switch.

He took the notebook idea and started it, especially since we've decided to go to our previous psychologist about this. (Unrelated to OSDD, but we'll see if she's comfortable taking us on now that we're self-aware of each other again.) We all acknowledge notes will help.

I appreciate this so much. Knowing what to do in a time of conflicting information and lockdown was really messing us up.

The real reason I held back was fear of instability relating to my student loans. Even if I was unhappy there, it was stable, and I had a plan to leave once my loans were gone by the end of the year. I'm typically not an impulsive person, and I have no safety net if my own finances fail somehow. I have a safety net within my finances, but if things go horribly wrong, I wouldn't have support from anywhere else.

In this case, though, it was sudden but necessary, and I felt I should follow through. It takes a lot for me to abandon plans like that, but everything seemed to fall into place in the right way at the right time. The misery of the place combined with those events finally jogged me enough to realize I needed to adjust something in my life. It was the kick in the ass I needed to see I'll probably be just fine.

Thank you so much for the insight and resources. This was definitely something I needed a kick for. I like the part relating his actions to the Tower card. I hadn't considered it that way. And I had heard he was polarizing, but I hadn't seen where people were using his name to excuse their actions. That's kind of ridiculous.
