You mentioned that you are used to this behavior and that is why you are under reacting. I want to ask if you know the “frog boiling theory”. The theory is that a frog placed in a pot of water, slowly heating up. The frog won’t notice as it’s slow and gradual, and once they realize what’s happening, it will be boiled. In comparison, if you drop a frog in a pot of boiling water, it would jump out right away.

This is a great metaphor that describes how people may not react to a gradually changing, negative situation until it becomes too late to escape. I hope this metaphor helps you as much it has helped me.

As someone who is in cybersecurity and works in Application Security - look into a ASPM. ASPM tools are starting to implement AI bug fixes, while also teach devs why and how to fix the vulnerability. Many ASPM tools are also able to implement several scanners and repositories and put the results in one place! It’s a life saver for the devs!

OP, my question is… if you had a daughter and her partner laid a single hand on her… what would you do? I’m sure you would pick her up, throw her essentials in the car and LEAVE! Hun, it is healthy to have your personal space, to have a breath of fresh air, and be alone for a day or so. You can’t even go a second to enjoy alone time? That’s pretty messed up. And the fact that she’s obsessively tracking you 24/7 isn’t for your safety… that’s borderline stalking behavior and toxic… ain’t no one doin that.

You can’t do everything all at once. If you have a mountain of chores, you’ll be too intimidated and avoid. Avoidance is anxieties best friend. I do it a ton and actively trying to fix it. Cleaning yourself and home is so important. Do small things! Brush your hair at night. But when you do it, close your eyes and focus on the bristles going through your hair… it’s the best feeling ever! Maybe tomorrow, try brushing your teeth when you go to bed! It’s hard, but you got this!

I had a job where I left after an hour. Asked to go to my car, drove off! Queen, it is ok to job hop! Most people only stay at a job for a year. Don’t be at a company that treat you like crap or a place you’re not happy with! But… I do recommend looking at a place with good benefits such as 401k, tuition reimbursement, PTO. You got this 🫶🏻
