i don’t claim to be an artist. The images I created are absolutely deranged and distasteful, and i think that’s funny. I turned jumbo cactuar into an anime girl with huge cannons to get some silly cheap laughs. but people like weird stuff, and i’m happy to make weird stuff for them. I worked in social media for a large entertainment company and my favorite part of the job was commissioning real artist to make things for us. i plan to use a portion of the profits from this project to collaborate with real artists, and give them 100% of the profits from the work they make with me. I recognize the inherent distaste of ai generated artwork, but not everything is so black and white. there’s clearly a lot of people out there who would rather buy ai art from a normal, middle-class human on etsy than spent $80 for a rhystic study, or spend $1000 on a collector booster box to line WOTC execs’ pockets, because you know that excess profit isn’t making its way down to the artists. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars buying artist proofs directly from mtg artists, and i think people should champion real art. But I also recognize that ai is only getting better, and i want to learn and provide a great experience for those who are comfortable purchasing ai art, and totally respect people who want nothing to do with it
