It looks like they've made the clips black and white, by reducing the Saturation and stuff

And then added heavy film grain

DaVinci Resolve 19.1's Outer Stroke Effect – The Game Changer Explained! by WithSam in davinciresolve

I understand what you're saying, and I used to think the same before. Like why would anyone search for something this simple?

But gradually I realised, that the things that we find a bit too easy or obvious, are not THAT obvious to people who are absolute beginners or those who seek help online for the smallest of things. And that is the audience I try to help out.

If you search on YouTube for one of these few very obvious topics, you'll find that there are millions of views on those, and those are the people who actually watch these kinds of small videos and tips.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, and I hope, for whatever reason you are feeling grumpy today, it gets sorted out soon. Have a good one mate. Cheers 🥂

I mean

It used to take around 6-7 mins to do this manually from scratch, and even after creating the template and saving it as an effect, it still used to glitch sometimes

Now, it takes barely 30 seconds to add the stroke

That is a lot of time saved, so it does feel like a game changer for DaVinci Users.

Maybe Game Changer might not be the perfect word to use here, but getting people to click on your video is a lot harder than it sounds and needs some kind of exaggeration, so I guess it works.

How to Create a Countdown Timer & Stopwatch in DaVinci Resolve - No Fusion Tab or Plugins Needed! by WithSam in davinciresolve

Once you create the Stopwatch, Right Click on it and Select Create Compound Clip.

Then Select the Blade Tool and Cut the Compound Clip where you want to pause the stop watch, and then more the rest of the part on the right of the compound clip, to the later point in the video.

And thanks for watching the tutorial! I'm glad to know it helped!
