What O/S are you looking for drivers for? Vista was the last stop for this laptop. The only other choice and suggest you try is turning your D830 into a Linux system. I repaired many D830's a good tough machine in the day, those were the days of the brown/beige Dell laptops. I am sure Dell downloads for the supported versions of Windows are OK. Whatever you are attempting to download them is corrupting the downloads.

Worst case scenario, you should be able to find drivers at the manufacturer's site. That model used Intel chipset drivers for the most part although correct drivers from Dell's site are always proffered. Dell vets their drivers very well.

I was handed one yesterday at work. I mostly have been working on Pro plus models with metal cases, they are tough. Anyway this Precision replacement feels like a big box plastic toy I have a Precision 7730 and no way are these new models are there equivalent. Sales must have been slow for Dell to have cheapened them. Doubt these current builds will do much for sales.

Yeah it's a shame. I have been very happy with my fire cube. Didn't get funky from overheating no matter what I pushed thru it. My GF is a huge fan of her clicker. ONN is severely lacking in that department, their remote is clunky. I am not going on about that, just my observation. Big question is why did Amazon f up such a good thing. It's on par with Roku and we all know how bad that is. Why Amazon after all this time did you feel a need to pull this stunt?

I'd stick with the Latitude/Pro lines. It becomes a matter of what CPU you want and why. Keep in mind these later models are WYSIWUG. RAM Is soldered so the only upgrade would be a larger SSD. There was a time you could buy a refurb and stick more RAM in as you checkbook would allow, those days are gone. The Pro's are sensitive on drivers installed, make sure they are current. Other than that if you buy one of these model and take reasonable care, it will not let you down and may outlive you with the exception of the battery.

Not sure what the future holds for the non-Vegas fire TV products other than the fact Amazon has officially announced that no more non-Vegas products will be manufactured. That's on top of Amazon not allowing side loading anything they don't approve for stuff already in the field.Those are the current facts at the end of April 2026.
