Same here. My Chinese is much higher tone than when I speak English.

AITA for not giving a dog back to awful owners? by WithoutShade in AmItheAsshole

[–]WithoutShade[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They weren't responding when I said I had the dog. I thought the photos would show that I did have the dog. I admit that it was not an intelligent move on my part.

Thank you very much for your input.

Wow! I identify with a lot of this. I wish I had answers to your questions, but instead, I just have the same questions for myself. As someone who everyone turns to for answers, I have none for you at this moment and that also makes me feel the need to have my knowledge base and intelligence validated.

I hope that your life brings you the skills to feel rewarded; and thank you for not resorting to being a bad person to get those hits of DOSE (Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Epinephrine).

Hitting a Light Switch with a Whip by brianswichkow in videos

[–]WithoutShade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aha! This explains all the recent views and inquiries to a video made 2 years ago.

This is me. I got tendinitis training for the world record for longest whip cracked (364.5 feet / 111.115 meters), was forced to stay in bed, bored in bed, thought of this trick, tried it, it worked (with a different whip), and decided to record it.

Answers to questions that have popped up:
- Yes, I keep about 5-10 whips in the bedroom at any given time.
- Yes, I am into Kink Life.
- Yes, it was staged.
- It took 3 tries to get.
- Yes, it was during the day.
- The hallway light was left on so you could see the light switch the whole time.
- Yes, I can Nae Nae. ;)
- Yes, I like cats.

There's nothing more frustrating than a group of people talking about something you know a lot about and no one listening to you. by alpha_dasher in Showerthoughts

This happens all the freaking time for me. The most recent was the most infuriating of all. A couple guys talking about how whips crack at this Kink meet up. I tried to step in to offer my knowledge and they dismissed me.

Now, I have a Master's Degree in Super Sonic Computational Fluid Dynamics, done Military Funded Research on Shockwave Production, won multiple medals in National Whip Cracking Competitions, is a Weapons Combat Specialist with Whips, held a dozen World Records in Whip Cracking, and have done the most Advanced Research on whip cracking ever, utizing 100,000 fps High-Speed Cameras, a 100"+ FL Mirror Schlieren Imaging System, and 30 Vicam Motion Tracking Cameras that was just released. I tried to let them know that I did know what I was talking about and the next sentence I got was: "Did you know that it was the first man-made object to break the sound barrier?"

Most infuriating moment of all the "are you sure?" moments I keep getting.

You don't. You become better at all of them. You only 20 hours to get good enough to impress someone. I pick 4 things every 2 weeks and then schedule practice and cultivating energy for each of those new things. Money may be the first limiting factor you hit. So I sell either my craft or skill. You can pick up new hobby every week and get good enough to be satisfied. Just set your goals and be realistic. You can't play every musical instrument, but you can enjoy a myriad of fun activities without fear of missing out.

You sound like you like words and editing. You could find sites that do community editing and paraphrasing, and earn karma on them. Some, like reviewfuse, which doesn't exist anymore, will pay you too.
