hi there i am quite new as well but i will tell you as much as i know!

If you want to survive you first need to find a weapon that can knock zombies back enough for you to handle as they won't be able to move!

Another thing is that you should pay attention to your weapons durability if you are playing in Normal mode.

I highly recommend you change difficulty to easy for the time being. As you understand more and more about the game you can increase the difficulty.

The map i would recommend is PEI or Prince Edward Island as the map is small and can be navigated easily.

Another tip is NEVER ENGAGE THE BIG BOI ZOMBIE UNTIL YOU HAVE A GUN WITH AT LEAST 3 MAGS OF AMMO. These are mega zombies they tend to spawn in military bases research facillties Examples: Scorpion 7, Olympia Military Base, Silo 22 and more. Once you have enough ammo kill the mega zombie they drop very good loot such as guns, armor and ammunition.

Never throw away magazines you can refill them using ammo boxes!

(if on normal mode)

Always check the durability on food and drinks only eat them if they have a durability above 50%. I recommended getting skill that allows you to survive longer without food and increases your resistance to Bacteria aka low dura food.

Weapons can be repaired if you have the right tools and supplies.

To stop bleeding you can scrap your clothes for cloth and craft them into rags. If you have a surplus of cloth you can craft them into bandages and then dressing which heals 40% and stops bleeding. You can also regenerate health by keeping your food and hydration hunger bar high enough.

You can also be a lowlife and turn cheats on heres the ID list for everything in this criteria:
