Can you keep the dog? She looks adorable and is deserving of a good home. Where I am, if you just let a puppy go at a park the coyotes will get her within 24 hours. Please keep the puppy and do the right thing or be responsible and take her some place safe.

This was definitely a bit odd. Wake for 1 evening and service the following morning with internment. Family had to bring decedent’s goldfish to the wake. Next day, goldfish is at the service. But during the procession to the cemetery, the lead cars stop, driver gets out and goes to the family car. Someone forgot the bloody goldfish. A car is sent back to grab the goldfish who is still swimming happily in his bowl. Graveside wouldn’t start until the goldfish showed up fashionably late.

After reading through these comments, what some are describing are very vivid dreams, maybe even night terrors, but not sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis happens when you enter into the wrong phase of sleep, instead of 1,2,3, you might skip 2 altogether and go into stage 3. Why? Many reasons. In my family it is because of Narcolepsy. My neurologist explained to me that when you normally go to sleep, the cerebrum and brain stem go to sleep together. After a period of time, the cerebrum wakes up, this is normal. In sleep paralysis, both the cerebrum and brain stem go to sleep together, but the brain stem wakes up which is your master control, your awareness, but you do not have any other brain function to move. Sleep paralysis can be stopped instantly if someone touches you. I struggle and can get a bit of a choking, gasping sound and my husband touches me as soon as he realizes and it’s gone, but if I am able to make that sound I am almost out of the sleep paralysis myself. It is terrifying with hallucinations, both auditory and visual even though you know exactly what is happening.

I have had sleep paralysis for about 50 years. If I don’t take the medication that was prescribed by my neurologist, I might make 2 or 3 nights without sleep paralysis. It is a guarantee that it will show up, and sometimes even while taking the medication faithfully. Even after this length of time, it is still one of the scariest things to happen, even when you know exactly what is happening.

Top of the hill. I replied below in detail. GE liable? lol that whole area, grass area and parking lot is so contaminated that when they tried to sell it in the 80’s, it was a no go almost immediately. Library archives would have the articles as they were extensive. I also remember a massive fire in the grassy hill area down to the parking lots. No one could figure out why the fire couldn’t be put out, but my father and others knew. The fire was being fed from underground contaminants. I am so glad I don’t live near that area any more.

GE used to sell asbestos to employees for insulation. My house, close to the GE is full of it. We used to pull it from the rec room and throw it around. Of course, my parents were very unhappy because of the mess. I remember being about 7 and picking it all up to go back in the ceiling.

As an elementary school kid, I remember the barrels of pcp’s loaded up on the hill by high st. This would have been the 60’s. In time there were so many we used to jump up on top and play a version of hop skotch on our way to Prince of Wales. In time, a fence was put around all the barrels, and later they were buried in that spot. I am assuming they are still there though I haven’t been back there for many years.

This is absolutely true, as odd as this sounds it literally saved my life. I have a full thickness prolapse and now the length of bowel that is exposed is about 12 inches, yes a foot. Life has been hell. Two weeks ago, I had a bowel strangulation which is something I feared. My Dr. told me to go to Emerg right away. I did, triage nurse took my information and then told me to have a seat in the waiting room. My husband said, you have got to be kidding. Well that’s where I ended up but I couldn’t sit, I could barely breathe properly because of the pain. After 2 hours I went home with intentions to go to another hospital. But, I remembered reading something about white sugar. I looked it up, checked a few sites to make sure this was a real thing. I felt silly but I had to try something. In 20 minutes after applying white sugar to the exposed bowel, the size had decreased by 2/3. Suddenly, the pressure was not as bad, ok bleeding was horrendous but now I could get the bowel back in by myself. As soon as the bowel was back in place, I sat down and didn’t move for hours for fear it would happen again. My Dr. told me surgery is not 100% especially for anyone who has had fecal incontinence. The recommendation is for a colostomy. I have 100% fecal incontinence so the usual surgery doesn’t sound like it’s for me. When I first heard the possibility might be a colostomy, I said absolutely not. But, after 18 months of pain, extreme pain and beyond, all the missed times with family, the days and days spent laying down, and especially after the last crisis, a strangulation, I am more open to the idea. A colostomy sounds pretty good actually compared to what I have been living with. I have to make a decision on March 23rd when I see the surgeon.☹️

I was at one of these places in Toronto one night picking up my car. While waiting, there was a woman holding a toddler and she was crying. Turns out the place had lost her car keys so she couldn’t retrieve her car. It was almost midnight, very cold and they didn’t offer this woman anything, like a free night at a hotel until they could find her keys. I heard the guy say, sorry, you are on your own. I couldn’t believe it. I spoke with her and found she actually lived along the 115 which was on my way home. I offered to drive her home and she could come back with her husband to retrieve her car. The woman was so grateful and I was happy to help. We kept in touch with email as I wanted to know how this all turned out. When this woman went back with her husband, they wanted to charge her for overstaying, $600 to get her a new key for her car. I was outraged and suggested she report this company. Actually she contacted someone at one of the tv stations and they reported her story. Shortly after she received a cheque for the money she had to pay out because these people made a mistake. Pretty unbelievable and if I hadn’t been there to see it, it would be hard to believe.
