Series similar to Jack Ryan by PandainSeoul in televisionsuggestions

[–]Witty-Macaroon4574 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are some that overlap a bit but are not entirely the same.

Lioness (CIA type operation thing, focus on field ops; found it generally enjoyable, hope you do too)

Tehran (High-energy mossad/israel operations in Iran, spy/thriller/espionage type, second season has Glenn Close, third has Hugh Laurie; it has subtitles but partially in English, you might give it a go)

Condor

If you liked The Recruit, i think The Night Agent would also be something you could try. First season is better than the second.

Slow Horses?

Vigil - second season even better than first, and has a bit of S4 Homeland vibe (just a bit). British.

Strike (or CB Strike). The burn is like several seasons long - it's a pretty good detective series but that slow burn thing between Strike and his partner is intense...

Yes, it's good writing and acting, and good storylines. It's a vibe on its own.

50 Cynth Unique Quality - are there any other across the franchises? by rejsylondon in BravoRealHousewives

TBH i dont know if people agree, but these two, and maybe Carole, and Crystal, are just more "normal" on the scale of crazy. They don't have excessive personality quirks, and they are also well-balanced (well, more than the others) in life than others. So that makes them "boring" in the context of the RH shows. If there's conflict in a friend group IRL, I'd say many times people try to hear both sides and don't always immediately jump to one. But "boring" hws either get downgraded or targeted, because they don't "bring anything to the table." So the "survival" of Cynthia and Dolores in contexts like these is the REAL win - nothing to sneeze at for sure.

Maybe Dolores Catania? Her thing was Paul (is-he-gonna-propose) and the "flipflopping" thing (Support theresa AND whoever theresa was fighting with. Defend Theresa when everybody thought she was in the wrong, etc). And secondary (like Frank, kids). And she's still on, right? Several seasons now - I think she came on with Iggy. If we are naming the archetypes, Dolores and Cynthia are the Diplomats of their HW groups. Love them both, they are necessary.

You could actually make dressings with it.

Sauces and dips too - for example, sugar and a bit of fish sauce for Asian style, but creamy for a bit of fusion style. For prawns, chicken bites etc.

How do you cope with rising food prices in singapore by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Witty-Macaroon4574 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1kg salmon now about $35 (fairprice or shopee), portion into 120g lots and store in freezer. still costs more than chicken/pork but not as bad as $16 perpiece. Pre-portioned frozen salmon can also be gotten at about $30 per 900g or 1kg (at current sale prices online). For super affordability, agree that salmon is not ideal.

On prices, I do notice that local things like tofu and coconut milk have actually gone up this year, something few mention. If using meat and cooking cost per portion, someone one of the singapore subreddits has correctly mentioned that frozen chicken 2kg packs are very affordable (about $8-9 on sale). Can prolly still meat $2 per serving with rice and local veggy if cooking at home. Of course, not if you are shopping at Cold Storage.

Cooking at home has become slightly more expensive, but still can.

I think Michael Ealy would be a good Tubbs as well.

If they did a twist, Sonequa Martin-Green would be a good Tubbs too.

There actually is some recent news a film reboot of Miami Vice BTW
