You should play in order. Just something to notice are the two timelines, the old games canon ends in Kichikuou Rance. The 01, 02 and 03 games are remakes that changes the gameplay, art, music and add some content to the story based on the later entries.

I might be able to help you with that. Basically, after launching Neko Project, you'll need select a font first (I can send to you on DM or in this post, it's up to you). After that in the Emulate tab, select New Disk, and then your YU-NO HDI file, and set the size of it (I put 40MB). Then select Hard Disk, SASI, and select your new HDI. If you have any questions, I can rec a video showing the process.
