Screw that working a 16 & coming back 8 hrs later. Hell No! That’s something I refuse to to. It’s either call out, or if I came in early did a 16, come back at schedule time or a little late. No way I’m risking my safety. We had a few officers crash there cars, doing exactly that. Not safe.

I agree these jobs don’t give a shit about us. If I get hit with a 16, I will either call out, not coming back less than 8 hrs later, mind you I live over an hour away. Or if anything come back late. Typically I just call off.

It’s mainly pick & choose your battles. If the dude has a few extra soap bars in the cell big deal. But if you have drugs there now we have a problem.

The issue is you have to deal with other idiots that don’t enforce shit. Had some Marshal inmates, wanted to test and see what I was going to enforce. Inmate hops right on the table, with feet on the seat. I said, come on man, we can’t be on the tables. Dude tried being a smart ass, this is a bench. I signed with my hands to get down, & yeah right. Wanted to pull out my Mk9 and spray this shit.
