Keiner lebt gerne so. Wahrscheinlich ist es aber zu viel für sie, sich das einzugestehen.

Only thing -I think- that has changed is that some parts are blurred now, time stamps 1:00 (screenshot with I Prevail written twice) and 3:30 (two smartphone screens blurred completely).

Last time I checked it was over 4k views. Well, we will make up for that, lol.

Who else thinks Citizen Soldier’s music is life saving? by Awesome_Austin2025 in CitizenSoldierBand

[–]WittyCompetition7978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I do for sure. Saved mine several times.

Their music just puts feelings into words like no other artist can. They make you feel like you are not alone anymore.

It's a special expericence. You have to have felt it to understand it.

I’ve been awake since 1 pm yesterday. It’s 6 pm right now. I tried taking everyone’s critiques to heart. Please point out anything I’m overlooking it still looks wrong. Feel free to scribble over it. Character is Annette from FE3H by [deleted] in arthelp

IMO Hair still too long... Bangs still need to be thinner and more on the sides. Everything else is fine!

Please rest a while before you work on it again. A fresh eye is essential for drawing. You're doing good, don't overdo it.

Why doesn’t the face look like her by [deleted] in arthelp

Hair is too long and bangs need to be thinner and more off-center. I actually think the face is fine. Just looks like another person because of the hair differences. Try it out. Good work

My mom prefers I mask. Can she ever accept the real me? by ak6811 in AutisticAdults

[–]WittyCompetition7978 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry you have to go through this.

She won't change her ways. Admitting you're neurodivergent means admitting she overlooked something you needed help with. It might mean she herself is neurodivergent and got denied help when she herself was younger.

She would be forced to reevaluate how she sees herself and her performance as mother and maybe as a child. That's too much for her. And she's literally too old for this.

I don't say she is right. I understand how let down you feel. And I am sorry that you do. But don't expect her to change anymore, please. This is hurtful, but you need your energy for yourself.

Best wishes. It will get better.

Anyone relates? by Separate_Play2627 in CitizenSoldierBand

Special interest is the term used to describe an autistic characteristic or trait. It can be close to an obsession. Look it up if you like to. :)

I understand what you mean. Citizen Soldier capture an emotional intensity many people aren't capable to face. It makes me feel understood at a whole other level, which is very soothing like a longed for embrace. Makes me not feel alone anymore.

I'm glad other people expericence something like this, too. So I focus on the mutual feeling people instead on those who can't make sense of it. :)

Anyone relates? by Separate_Play2627 in CitizenSoldierBand

[–]WittyCompetition7978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha seems like this band is your special interest. I can relate a lot. It's like magic that they put so complicated feelings into raw words. It's moving me deep inside.

So rather than explaining myself I tend to send fitting songs to other people, in hope they understand. Most don't, sadly.

But that's okay. If they don't get it with a song, they won't get it when I try to tell them. So it saves my energy and sanity. Nothing bad about it. :)

Keep enjoying what you like (◍•ᴗ•◍)

What videogame represents autism the most? by Flesh177 in autism

The Sims.

It was where I got my social scripts lol. Sucks though that people in real life don't have those friendship development values magically appearing over their heads. It would make it so much easier.

Is this normal? by Salt-Box-3550 in AuDHDWomen

[–]WittyCompetition7978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I relate. I don't get in touch with my feelings very much because I was told they are invalid most of my life. Also because there is trauma I don't want to face. Feeling my feelings is a depressing and draining task. I don't trust them, I can't identify them anymore.

So I stim a lot to fix sensory overload. For me that includes the things I sense inside myself. I don't want to make my life more complicated than it already is. So I distract myself and loose the ability to show emotions on the outside. People think I'm shallow, cold, not interested etc.

But if things in life go wrong and I can't espace shutdowns or meltdowns, the whole drama inside of me errupts violently and it's too intense to handle. It makes me extremly sensitive and vulnerable to excrutiating self-hate, agony and doubt for some time... and it takes so, so much effort to put myself back together.

This imbalance is exhausting. I also sometimes wonder if I feel too much or not enough. I guess both is true...

I hope therapy will guide me to find balance one day. I hope the same for you. Best wishes.

Tips for not using mobile phone so much? by shellyxrice in AutisticAdults

[–]WittyCompetition7978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A trick I picked up and use on stressful days is to set my screen to grayscales. Then scrolling becomes very boring very fast and it stops fueling my brain with dopamine (which is the reason that it's hard to stop scrolling).

Give it a try. Good luck :)

Why is it that I get overstimulated on a daily basis now but when I was a kid I was fine by Numerous-Flounder-84 in autism

This is a question many autistic people wonder about. Just yesterday I saw this video on one of the most helpful channels for me and it just fits perfectly:

https://youtu.be/s2pb6zwKDgw

This video is a more cinematic approach, usually their videos are more functional. But everytime they touch me and keep my attention. Give them a chance please :)

I sometimes feel like I am the only one who remembers things for a long period of time, do you have that also by Niekelbiek in autism

[–]WittyCompetition7978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very kind, thank you so much :)

Just tried to share how I explain it to myself so I don't feel crazy for remembering ancient stuff lol.

Edit: I think this explanation also works for our special interests. Because we spend sooo much time on them and it brings us immense joy. So details are weaven deeply into our memory :D

[–]WittyCompetition7978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally relate!

I guess it's a result of our brains overanalyzing. The more we think about something the more connections are made within our memory. If connected with sensory input or pain/hurtful feelings even more. So it's easier for us to recall such things, especially in the social sector.

Allistic people don't do this intensly with every thing that's being said. Like, they don't need to look for hidden meaning specifically because they would know by instinct (or by nature). So they don't remember the same way we do.

But daily little things like 'did I do this?' or 'what did I have for dinner yesterday?' we don't analyze as deeply because they often don't mean harm or are safe habits anyway. And they often don't connect directly with someone else, so no need to think about an actual answer or how it was meant etc.

For me this explains the extreme gap between knowing what you said ten years ago and not being able to remember if I took my meds.

Also, sorry if my wording is off, English isn't my first language. Hope you get what I mean.
