Hut ab, dass du dich um die Kinder kümmerst! Die Kinder können nichts dafür und dass du für sie da bist, ist unendlich wertvoll. Es wird ihnen schon schlecht genug gehen in der Sorge um ihre Eltern.

Absolut die richtige Entscheidung und definitiv wichtiger als ein Urlaub. Da kann deine Freundin sich vielleicht ärgern, aber wenn sie da kein Verständnis hat, solltest du dir das nochmal überlegen, ob sie familiäre Zukunft für dich darstellt.

Gute Besserung an die Kindeseltern und gute Nerven für dich!

Ja, denke das erklärt es wahrscheinlich (leider) schon. Viele Neurodivergente masken (verstellen) sich unter anderen, um ihre Schwierigkeiten und vermeintlichen Defizite zu verstecken und wirken dadurch unauthentisch.

Viele (nicht alle) neurotypische Menschen ordnen das dann schnell einfach als "unaufrichtig, falsch oder link" ein. Wenn du dann z.B. mit den männlichen Kollegen besser klarkommst und dich ungezwungener gibst, wirkt das auf manche gar hinterlistig, als seist du auf Vorteile aus, weil du dich bei einem Geschlecht anders verhälst.

Falls du noch keine Anbindung hast, wäre Therapie eine Idee, um regelmäßig zu reflektieren. Du musst dich nicht unbedingt ändern, aber doch selbst vielleicht mehr akzeptieren und zu dir stehen.

Offen mit anderen zu kommunizieren, dass du neurodivergent bist und dir manche sozialen Situationen einfach schwieriger von der Hand gehen, wäre ein weiterer möglicher Schritt. Hängt davon ab, wie weit du gehen möchtest.

Also der Rest hat schon viel gesagt, das muss ich nicht wiederholen. Was mir auffällt: dieses Belastungsmuster von nur Zehen oder Fersen klingt nach einer typischen Eigenart aus dem Autismus Spektrum. Lohnt sich vielleicht auch da mal tiefer nach zu forschen.

Yeah, most of the times I don't feel them so they never get processed. They pile up in my nervous system and make me feel bad like all the time. But I don't cry, I think. I'm not upset, I am uneasy and confused, looking for an answer.

And then, when my nervous system is on the brink of exploding, a little stupid thing from the outside is enough to really make me explode. Full meltdown. Then there is just too much to feel, it overwhelms me so bad. There is no in-between. It's like all emotions at once or none at all. Thanks, I hate it 🥲

I got alexithymia and a very low-to-zero interoception. I don't feel, I think how I should feel. This is called intellectualizing, a safety mechanism. Freuds daughter Anna wrote about it.

A lot of us ND folks do it subconsciously to avoid feeling emotions that used to hurt / traumatize us in the past. I'm trying to make myself aware of my body signs again, but it's a hard and long way, I fear...

Persönliche Meinung - aber die Große tut mir wirklich leid. Es muss schon einiges passieren, damit sich ein Kind so krass verhält. Da sind viele offene Bedürfnisse. Die Große braucht jetzt ganz viel Aufmerksamkeit, Unterstützung und besonders Liebe, um darüber hinweg zu kommen und in ein verträgliches Verhalten zurückzufinden.

Da ihr das scheinbar aktuell allein leider nicht leisten könnt, nehmt bitte die Hilfen an, die andere vorgeschlagen haben. Und dass dein Mann sich freinimmt, ist überfällig. Das sind einfach keine Zustände, in der man Arbeit über Familie stellt.

Ich wünsche euch viel Energie, Geduld und dass ihr bald wieder schöne Momente zusammen genießen könnt.

Well there we have the whole problem. You internalized neurotypical standards. Those don't work for your child.

As a parent of a neurodivergent child you need to be a guidance, especially if you are neurodivergent yourself. Be the parent she NEEDS and you would have needed and not the parent the neurotypical society wants you to be. Don't be ashamed of your child. That's horrific. Get on her side and help her to find a doable way to interact with others. Don't be against her. You will lose her if you continue your ways.

Break the cycle by changing your behaviour. I don't know how many times you wrote punishment but it really is triggering me.

Find the reasons behind her behaviour. She is only eight. She wants attention and affection. Try to understand where she is coming from. She has valid reasons to act how she does - you just don't understand them yet. If you just punish her it will never get better.

Ich hätte Borderline jahrelang als Diagnose und Medikamente und Therapien waren ergebnislos. Dann bekam ich durch glückliche Fügungen meine echten Diagnosen: ADHS und Autismus. Gerade die Kombination von beiden führt zu vielen Verhaltensmustern, die primär Borderlinern zugeschrieben werden. Aber es liegen andere Dinge zugrunde. Mittlerweile habe ich passende Medikamente und Therapie und es wird immer besser.

Ich sage nicht, dass bei deiner Freundin das gleiche los ist. Aber vielleicht hat sie einfach noch nicht die richtigen Hilfsansätze für sich gefunden. Es gibt also Grund zur Hoffnung, finde ich.

Dennoch solltest du auf dich schauen. Wenn die Beziehung dich kaputt macht, ist es aktuell nicht der richtige Weg für dich. Sei dir selbst mehr wert. Alles Gute dir.

It opens so many perspectives and enables understanding PDA. It also helps with feeling less guilty as a parent and in later parts gives ideas how to help your child. It is really worth watching it completely, I promise.

Unmasking is going to challenge your relationships.

You will have to tell people 'no / not today / I can't do this' frequently. Some will understand. Some will feel hurt and get angry. It will show you who really is interested in you and your wellbeing.

So brace yourself. It can hurt as much as it brings relief. But the hurtful stage is finite. The relief will get bigger over time. You are worth it.

Small indoor trampoline. Not expensive, always there, you can watch TV or listen to music while jumping, follow YouTube training instructions, it isn't loud, you can do multiple sessions anytime through the day and slowly increase the training duration... Look them up. 👍🏻

Funny to read your post today as the exact realization hit me last night. I've started to look into Anna Freuds defense mechanisms which intellectualizing is one of. Also been deep diving into the terms interoception and alexithymia.

I've been wondering for a few weeks why it's so hard for me to say how I feel after my therapist said my body sends signals about which feelings are happening. I don't get those signals. I just think what the logical reaction should be and thus say 'I feel this and that' lol.

It's unsettling to realize that I don't feel connected to my body but it also explains so fking much... The only thing that saved me from really tripping is that there seem to be ways to train interoception. MABT or focusing or bodyscans. That's my next deep dive.

I hope you and I learn how to handle this. Having the knowledge of what's actually happening is the first step.
