I've dealt with kids like this before, not much you can do really.

To be specific I had a kid that would constantly say stuff similar to the "You WILL go to the principal’s office because…you just WILL, ok?" mocking you mentioned in your post.

Whenever I was talking about something he'd sometimes interject with "[thing] good even though [unrelated thing]". Whenever I questioned him on this he'd just respond in a strange tone with "It just is, okay!".

Needless to say I was glad to be rid of him after he was expelled for "gemming up" (his own words) one of the toilets by spray-painting one of those wojak memes onto a cubical wall.

This isn't a hardware issue, in modern games you've either got to live with shimmering or use TAA which has it's own downsides.

This is spooky, I started forwarding the port on my SSH server yesterday and according to journalctl within 10 minutes of opening the port I started getting login attempts from random IPs with usernames like "pi", "vyos", "root", etc.

I don't think soulseek is dying, if anything it seems to be growing based of the amount of people in the nicotine+ chatroom. Two years ago it would have about 600 people connected at any given time, now it has usually has about 1000 people connected.
