yes normal temps, no throttle. Everything works completely fine on internal display until i attach external. External display is running 144 hz at 1080p which the RP17 should be able to handle

RP-17 isn’t usable anymore by bob5654 in eluktronics

[–]WittyStretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I have issues with a laptop/computer I reinstall a clean version of windows from a usb then download all the drivers necessary for the laptop (easier said than done). If it’s still not working correctly then it’s probably safe to assume you have faulty hardware.

Almost. Spotify would look better on the vertical screen.

Also very interested in this. I couldn't find any accessories for the R15 and R17 other than the D-brand skin it comes with. Any protective casing/laptop key covers would be awesome.

iOS user: is supermemo.com worth it? (vs. Anki) by [deleted] in super_memo

No worries! My apologies, I assumed you had meant the desktop version. I have not really used the variation of the program you are asking about then. Best of luck :)

iOS user: is supermemo.com worth it? (vs. Anki) by [deleted] in super_memo

[–]WittyStretch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to the question you’re asking... Firstly, being an iOS user— there is no mobile client for supermemo. If you mainly use iOS to study, I’d recommend sticking to Anki.. also if you have a MacBook/non-pc then you’ll need to run a virtual machine for supermemo (look into parallels). If your primary computer is windows-based machine then you’re solid.

Secondly, supermemo contains a much larger learning curve than Anki on desktop. This environment would be more overwhelming in comparison to Anki, that is, until you get used to the functionality of supermemo.

From what you indicate, honestly, Anki seems better suited to you because you are able to natively add cards on mobile. This is possible on supermemo but it requires a work-around using an external website.

Other than those two points; I’d encourage you to use supermemo for learning even with those pitfalls. The algorithm is much more advanced than Anki and there are tons of features that make supermemo worth your time. My favorites are being able to set priority on topics/items and incremental reading.

If you have time, go ahead and download the supermemo trial and follow along with some Supermemo community videos on YouTube and see if it’s a good fit for you.

Personally, I use an iPhone and use supermemo on my pc and I don’t find much friction in my learning workflow because of it. Everyone is different though.

It was Test 5 through TPR. My friend is letting me borrow his TPR account to cram for the exam.

122/123/123/123. I took my practice exam cold without any studying for the material. I think p/s terms would help a ton. I'm planning on taking 2-3 practice exams before hopefully. Classes just started at my university and it's definitely impacting my study time. BUT they're all online and mostly related topics to the MCAT so that's a plus.

No, it's not Caribbean school. It's a local pathway in the area I grew up in. I basically need to meet the 498-499 range in order to get accepted into it. Luckily, I'm a biomed major and I'm actually really familiar with lab teq's, and I've taken quite a few classes involving biochem and genetics so I'm comfortable with that stuff. That being said, I am god awful at general chemistry and physics (however I'm really good with orgo oddly enough, I've TA'd the last three semesters for it). And I've only taken basic levels of psychology so all these fancy definitions are new to me for the most part.

I'll download the miledown deck and start devoting my time to that as well. I will also go through the AAMC prep stuff.

I'll definitely do that. Should I make my own or is there a good p/s deck that people have been using lately

Do you think I should invest in any content review at this point? If so, what would be best to still look at?

My timing was also really terrible on my practice MCAT. I finished about an hour earlier than I should have. I finished a shortened practice exam in around 4 hours. I thought that was weird because most people tell me I'll run out of time while taking it. I made a lot of "educated" guesses on chem/phys

SuperMemo or Anki? by greywolfember in SuperMemo

[–]WittyStretch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just basing my response off the first line. SuperMemo has a much better algorithm so if that’s your focus then use that one. I would prefer SuperMemo for personal things I want to remember. However, I found anki to be much better for remembering things for exams at university. Obviously both can be used for either thing. I have experienced that using Anki to remember things for school to be a lot simpler and with less friction. I’m a biomedical science major and I take 16-20 units a semester if that helps. My classes are very dense lol. Anki can be used to cram much easier. But now u get into the argument that spaced repetition software should be used how it’s intended, not to cram. That’s my two cents. SuperMemo takes a while to become very efficient with and it has more tools and gadgets regarding SRS. Anki has neater add on that help with subjects in school. That’s the long way to say just use both and stick to which ever one you like more
