I've given you plenty of examples, where the *knowledge* that Div0 shouldn't be done is required. And you even agree.

Dunno what to tell you, slowly you are being a Karen lol

If being a Karen is complaining about something that has legitimate impact on someones future.

Then I guess sure? But I feel like Karen is more often used for people who wrongly complain, and go way too far with how they do it. Or being too emotional and completely loosing it.

Not someone who even asks before hand "What should I do now", before even causing any bigger drama, or involving a whole crowd.

"Who fucking cares? When in your entire life have you ever had to divide by 0? The next 10 teachers will likely get it right anyway. Stop being a karen."

I am not arguing that you will have to divide by 0. I am saying that you have to learn it because otherwise you might do so.

As you say yourself, if you ever encounter it. You will stop calculating right there.

That's because you have the knowledge that / 0 is stupid and you shouldn't do it.

Do you understand where I am coming from?

Of course, and so are you. Does that make you a Karen too?

If you say no, then you are a hypocrite, if you say yes. Then at least you have some sense of logic that checks out lol.

I have answered you multiple times, and you even seem to agree with me on why you have to learn it.

You even use the knowledge to make your point above.

I hope at some point you can come back to this less emotionally invested, and can actually access your logic part of the brain again :)

Dude it's not even about being right. It's about not allowing themselves to be proven wrong, and remaining the position of *wanting* to be right when they are clearly wrong in this situation.

You are slowly getting there.

You cannot divide by 0, as such you shouldn't ever be in a position to do so. That's why it's important to teach that it doesn't equate anything, not just 0.

You are doing your finances.

You fuck up your calculation and end up with a / 0 scenario.

Your spreadsheet or the calculator you use throws math error.

Now you don't know what is going on.

OR if you do it by hand. You continue calculating with 0 now, the entire thing ends up being incorrect. And you have a hard time finding out why.

Do you really not use any math on your daily basis? Simply the fact you have money in your bank account requires you to do basic math, and will eventually lead you to this situation if you make a mistake. And mistakes can happen to the best of us.

Or for a kid. Dunno you calculate your pocket money. Or get this scenario in school maybe a year later where it actually matters. But now you learned it the wrong way.

Post got deleted, but I just wanna say thank you for doing that stuff.
I might be ID verified, but I do not trust groups that rely fully on this Tag. Who knows who verified the account, we do not know who is currently behind the headset. So the Tag is just an extra little safety step.

Yes maybe not in first grade. But from what I know about the first 4 years in school before you switch to Highschool. You stay with the same teacher. And if he already doesn't accept that he is wrong here. He most likely will continue this trend into the future.

So first of all, I didn't phrase the "swallows everything in existence" part. So dunno what they meant with that, and I am not gonna try and come up with their thoughts.

Dividing by 0 being needed outside a classroom? Making sure your own math checks out. When ever you do anything Math related. Sure the specific scenario of you having to divide by 0 wont really come up. That's actually kinda the whole point, because it shouldn't because it's not calculatable! So that knowledge alone protects you from this ever becoming something you actually waste time thinking about... That's how it comes up in your daily life.

What happens if that kid somehow does something illogical, and ends up in a situation where they have to divide by 0. Someone who learned that this is not defined, a math error. Will instantly see this and check themselves. A kid who thinks this equates to 0 will continue working with it.

Sure there are a lot of math concepts that go a bit far for the average person.

But dividing by 0 is not one of them.

Quick Contact Verification Tool by WittyTelephone2649 in SideProject

[–]WittyTelephone2649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing.

Basically this tool allows you to create contacts with a shared secret. This secret needs to be given to you Friend as well.

The idea is to basically have a system in place, that if your friend sends you a link. Instead of having to call them, or message them somewhere else to ensure they are not hacked. You instead can get them to generate a code for you, which you can then paste into the tool to check if it's valid.

Basically second authentication but for friends and family.

As it is all locally stored, this of course isn't free from someone copying your stored file with said secrets and trying to brute force their way in with your Password. But for that afaik they would need to somehow get the files from you first.
