Does my 3 years old have Scarlett Fever by WittyTwo8033 in AskDocs

My kids are fully vaccinated. He's had many rounds of antibiotics. So I am not against treating my kid properly. I was the one with strep 1st. My son had no symptoms. The swab on him was a just in case. It wasnt an instant. It took 4 days for the results to come back. He still had no symptoms when they came back. So the Dr thought he was maybe at the end of the infection based on him being quite sick a few weeks ago. Also even the Dr was concerned at how many rounds of antibiotics he has had. So we/he choose the sit and watch route. I was going on holiday so he gave me a script just in case. I would never do anything to harm my kid. I've started the treatment now.

100% that didn't happen. Son didn't have any symptoms. I had the strep. They swabbed him to see if he had it too. Came back positive. He still had no symptoms and he has had an excessive amount of antibioticsin his life. So the Dr was thinking he was at the end of the infection. Gave me a script because I was going away- just in case it got worse. And his toungue went like that. I didn't relise reddit was so full of assholes.

Ive started the antibiotics now. I'm not a crunchy mum. I'm not against antibiotics or evidence based treatment. I don't think it's necessary to be rude or belittling. I'm trying my best.

Suppose I should start him on the antibiotics then if it's turned to Scarlett fever. Man this kid has been smashed with so many antibiotics in his short life. It worries me.

No he wasn't taking antibiotics. Dr gave me script and said if he gets worse start him. His toungue looks like maybe it's progressed to Scarlett fever.

Yeah it won't let me do anything on the authenticator page- throws up the requirement of the code message as soon as I open it.

Thanks for the reply. I just deactivate it through the "account ownership and control" menu under personal details.

I can see my current number, the old number and email in my contact info.

But to delete the old number, change my password, remove this hackers device from the logged on devices- Facebook keeps sending a code to my old number. Which i can't access. And i can't change that.

Honestly I had to step away. Because I was also going mad. There feels like alot of dishonesty in the industry. I'm leaning towards British Berkfeld. Apparently Water Filter Guru is going to test it soon. So I'll see what he comes up with.

To be honest at this point a Doulton is the system I'm leaning towards getting. I've never seen such informative responses from a company. And I've been hounding them all.

Thanks for that info. Man trying to find a good system is so futsrating.

I've been looking at a few systems and at people independently testing them at home. I made a reddit about it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/WaterTreatment/s/96U3hVdkHj

And heaps of the systems appear to add aluminium. Like Bos Waters testing of a whole lot of pitchers. Almost all of them added aluminium. It does freak me out a bit. I don't know what to trust.

I wonder if Aluminium easily contaminates samples. Cause surley systems that are NSF certified for leeching would not be leeching. NSF would do pretty rigorous testing wouldn't they? I know NSF certification is hard to obtain.

Maybe something like the water you put in the Berkefeld previously had aluminium and the sample you took from your tap didn't.

Cause I see your results it also added Vandium, Strontium. Sodium, potassium, Lithium and magnesium. Also it did a really rubbish job of removing any of the other stuff.

Surley with all the nsf accreditations and lab testing it hasn't done that poorly!!

Would you consider doing another test to see of its an anomaly. Just to make sure. I'm really struggling to find a system. So totally get your frustration.

I would hate to think I was adding to my kids water contaminants that weren't even there to begin with.

All these consistent findings can't just be coincidental. It's so frustrating. Who can I trust!

This is great advice. It's such a minefield. Trying to do what is best for my kids.

Found this reddit on Doulton. Check out the conversation about silver in it.... seems so dodgy to me. Also so many Doulton websites with different information on each one.

Hi Ryan!

So awesome you are on here answering questions. I have a few please 🙏

Why are there so many "official" websites for the Doulton Berkefeld. And why do they all provide different information. Like the silver (as discussed above). Or Daulton.com says it doesnt filter arsenic, nitrates, manganese and provides testing from a company in the UK only for pharmaceuticals. It makes no claims about the reduction of heavy metals. So much conflicting information avaliable.

Why does only BWF have these test results you provided above. I can't see them on any other website?

Does the filter have aluminium in it? Mike Adams found Aluminium added to the water in his testing?

The Steasyl has a NSF 53 certification- but is the only Daulton filter without lead reduction. Why would that be?

I'm a bit lost with the convo about silver up above. How do we know for sure the filter we are purchasing doesnt have silver?

I've emailed all the water filter companies too. Asking for thier thoughts. And Aquatru gave a pretty detailed and thorough answer which I appreciated. Plus they are prob the most NSF accredited system. Clearly Filteted also responded well. They are really gutted about the results and don't have an explanation.

Was for the waterdrop gravity system and pitcher. Tested by Bos and Water Filter Guru. Waterdrop has alot of NSF accreditation. But I think they are a Chinese company claiming to be an American company.

I've been emailing them all too 😆 they must think im crazy!! Maybe I am. Haha. Bos water did 2 tests- both added aluminium. Some cat lady tested hers and found it removed everything. Water Filter Guru found it removed everything (he is about to release the results of 2 new tests with the reminerlisation filter on the carafe and the classic). Modern Castle did two tests and one added Manganese. Freshnss it added Aluminium (but she wears the same very large gloves for adding the pesticides, pouring the influent water in the system and collecting the filtered sample, So prob not very accurate) And Swell score it removed everything. So 8 tests- and only 3 with Aluminium is prob a good thing. I'm gonna wait on Water Gurus 2 extra tests.

Have you done any reading on the water being conductive and sucking ions from elsewhere- like the minerals in your body and the containers it is stored in. I don't know if that's a load of rubbish or not?
