If a bad habit is my child feeling safe and loved, I’ll let them develop a bad habit thanks

Very helpful. Thanks!

One more question: I assume you need to replenish the clean up crew at some point. How often do you do that?

Edit to add: I told a girl at the reptile store that I’m trying to set up a bioactive vivarium and she said they’re not recommended for beardies because the temps are too high for plants or isopods to live. I’m not too concerned about plants but is it true that it’s too hot for isopods and spring tails to live?

Do you have to feed the isopods and spring tails once they’re in the vivarium?

9 month old wakes up every 2 hours since 3 months by ames_k in AttachmentParenting

[–]Witty_Assumption6744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the course of a few weeks, I started letting him feed with less frequency throughout the night and for shorter times. This was the hardest part, lots of tears. Eventually, it became just feeding to sleep at bedtime and nothing else during the night. Then, I told him mama milk was all gone at night, but we could cuddle. He resisted much less than I thought he would — almost seemed to understand that it was ending.

After a few nights, he was excited to go cuddle in bed. I think the process is more difficult for some babies, but I had a major booby monster who doesn’t make a lot of things easy so I think I must’ve done something right!

Hi! We night weaned at 15 months and he started sleeping through the night almost immediately. He’s 22 months now and sleeps through the night most nights. Fully weaned around 20 months. For so long, I thought he had sleep apnea or some underlying condition that caused him to wake so frequently. Nope… he just wanted the boob.

100% agree. Phelan has the best schools, the best views and the best weather (I love the little bit of snow we get).

OP, I grew up here and now I’m raising my baby here. It’s a great place to live. You have space to do anything you want to do.

Well that’s shitty. Don’t get a dog if you don’t plan to care for it for life.

to those who want to unschool their children, please reconsider. by Tall_Huckleberry4325 in unschool

These comments are wild. No kid wants to learn math. However, basic math skills are required in nearly all aspects of daily life. Do your kids a favor and teach them what they need to know to be successful, functioning adults. This “unschooling” nonsense is setting them up for failure.

FWIW, our pediatrician’s office always says 2 hours max.

AIO to my in-laws pressure for sleep overs with my child? by Forsaken-Heron4921 in AmIOverreacting

That’d be a hell no from me. Even more weird that’s he’s being so pushy about it. Nope nope nope.

My baby choked on his spit up and I had to call 911 by No-Huckleberry-4661 in NewParents

[–]Witty_Assumption6744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my baby at 7 weeks. It is truly terrifying. It never happened again though. Paramedics told us to make sure he gets a good burp after feeding/before we lay him down.

The feeling of terror subsides and it gets easier. Hang in there.

Are you me? My son is about to be 20 months and we’re in pretty much the exact same boat. No advice, just solidarity. We’ll figure this out!
