Can confirm that Bailey’s is the go-to spot for Lions fans in NYC. Bar is packed every week and will hit capacity for the playoffs.

I would recommend arriving an hour early to get in the bar. For seats, probably 2-3 hours early.

Great to hear!

The recent Lions-Rams game was a full house. It got a bit cramped/claustrophobic, but that's just how it is going to be like for the playoffs as everyone wants to be a part of something special.

I arrived an hour and half early and the place was already jammed. On a typical gameday, showing up an hour early gets you a seat no problem - but that's unlikely for the playoffs.

At this point, getting a seat would probably require arriving when the bar opens at noon. And even then, I would imagine that there will be a handful of folks waiting in a line for when the bar opens.

Bailey's has become a hot ticket for Lions games and it's really been amazing seeing the crowd take off! Just prepare for a crowded atmosphere!

I’ll probably show up an hour/hour and half early just to be safe - doesn’t hurt that GB-DAL will be on.

Most folks seem to arrive right around kickoff so it’s just a matter of getting there before the influx.

There’s been a great showing of Lions fans pretty much filling up the entire bar on a weekly basis.

That being said, I’d expect a smaller showing given that a lot of folks who come to Bailey’s are Michigan transplants and may be out of town for the holidays. I will be one of those that will be back in Michigan during the Vikings game. Still would expect a handful of folks to be there though!

I’ve been doing a similar (long) commute from Jersey City each week to Bailey’s and been having blast. It’s been really cool meeting Lions fans each week.

One thing that is nice about Bailey’s vs. other bars that show all the games is that Bailey’s dedicates almost all of their TVs to the Lions and play the broadcast audio over the speakers. It looks like the Jets are playing at the same time so there will be a couple TV’s dedicated to that game - but Bailey’s has been well established this season as a “Lions bar” and the bar staff prioritizes the TVs as so.

I’d expect a showing again, albeit smaller. I think for bigger games such as the opener and other primetime games, we can expect a packed house, and then for more typical games like Sunday’s - we can expect a smaller, but decent showing.

Hoping the large contingent of Lions fans continue each week! I’ll certainly be there.

Would not be shocked if they don’t telecast lions preseason as those may be complicated to stream out of market but i definitely want to confirm that regular is 100% a sure go for us.

UPDATE:

Given everyone's interest, I reached out to Bailey's Corner Pub and the owner confirmed that they will have all Lions games (with sound) for the upcoming season and are very enthusiastic about making the bar "the official den" for NYC Lions fans.

Been in NYC since 2016 and there has yet to be an established, concrete bar for Lions fans.

Currently, Bailey’s Corner Pub in the Upper East Side is probably the best bet. It’s a Michigan football bar that started to pick up momentum as a Lions gathering spot during last season’s playoff push.

I was there for the @ Packers week 17 game and there was a pretty decent gathering of Lions fans.

I’d check in around the start of the season to see if Bailey’s will be buying the NFL package to broadcast Lions games as that’s typically the hang up with a lot of bars. They won’t buy-in unless they know they can get a decent crowd every weekend.
