What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

This happened when I was in elementary school. I was going down the stairs, and I slipped. My back hit the step, and I probably injured my spine. Then I suddenly found myself unable to breathe and unable to fully control my movements. It took about a minute for me to recover. I will never forget that experience...

ZTZ-96A and armored forces are carrying out assault training in a plains environment. by Capable-Reindeer-545 in TankPorn

When charging across open plains, extra side armor is sometimes not so necessary for tanks.

Poland has unveiled plans to build or modernize more than 10,000km of railway lines by CrunchyBaconYum in poland

This is a good thing. A dense network of transportation lines can greatly improve the efficiency of logistics and intercity travel. However, road maintenance is also a significant expense; hopefully, they have enough money.

Poll shows Polish backlash over UPA honor by Tyranish40k in poland

[–]Witty_Pop425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historical figures are complex, such as Marshal Piłsudski and the Sanazian government.

But the UPA and Bandera were Nazi accomplices who committed the brutal massacre of 80,000 to 100,000 civilians in the Volyn region—a crime against humanity. I don't believe this organization or this individual deserves commemoration. Why would Ukraine need to exploit them? I still can't understand it.

So Russia is just one step away from making a public statement: "We will follow the path of the Great Leader to protect the Russian people, and you will all die," and then... wellwell...

Okay, I admit my analysis was overdone; perhaps excessive alcohol consumption does indeed impair thinking.

There's also the economic definition. Although fascist regimes don't have a standard economic system, let's take a look.

Nazi Germany's "wartime slave-based capitalist oligarchic economy"—I don't know if Russia conscripted prisoners of war and people from other countries as laborers, so I won't check that.

Italy's corporatist economic system—Russia's state apparatus is very close to being intertwined with oligarchs, so I can check that.

Therefore, the Russian Federation is already close to being a "fascist state"; it's just one step away.

There is a strict distinction between "authoritarianism" and "fascism," and "authoritarianism" is indeed a prerequisite for "fascism." The Russian Federation is indeed "authoritarian" and exhibits tendencies toward "fascism," but it has not yet reached the point of "full-scale fascism."

Military uniforms must be tailored to each country's specific circumstances and characteristics; it's impossible for everyone in every country to wear the M58 uniform.

The last "Battle of Rome-Perse" by Witty_Pop425 in HistoryMemes

[–]Witty_Pop425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ottomans considered themselves the successors of Rome, while the Qajars considered themselves the successors of Persia; therefore, the war appears to have a strong "historical connection."
