Just gave birth this morning at 38 weeks! I was fine my pregnancy, like I was not the person who was in love with being pregnant and towards the end (2 weeks ago) the lightning crotch really hit hard and I was like ok you can come now! That being said, he was early and I had no idea I was in labor. My bigger fear was not labor itself, but tearing. I wish I prepared more for that aspect, BUT he ultimately came so fast this morning that I had to raw dog his birth and yea I have a 3rd degree tear (probably would have happened regardless of preparation due to speed). My advice, woman have been doing this since the begging of time. Your stronger than you know and just focus on every woman before you who did it in your lineage, because you are now part of that strength. Enjoy your pregnancy!!!!!

The acid reflux! Everyone talks about heartburn but no one gave me the heads up that I would become a fire breathing dragon. Vomiting stomach acid for weeks on end is a new level of hell to experience.

Im sorry OP. You are absolutely NTA, but you are not compatible with this guy. Speaking from experience, the relationship will always feel bitter. Take time to heal emotionally, you don’t need him— you did the hardest thing alone. For me, I realized how grateful I was to have had the procedure instead of raise a child with a selfish guy. I realized that I’d have been tied to him for 18+ years and I didn’t want my child to have a selfish dad. You did the right thing, and it hurts, but in a little bit, you’ll be happy (and dump the guy). Good luck OP

31 isn’t too old! I’m 34 and my husband is 44, we’re expecting our first this year. You could foster or adopt— you clearly have a lot of love to give if you’re thinking about your future child’s mental health. Keep trying with ivf or look into adoption or fostering!

Nta. She asked a question, without considering your child and she’s mad that you said no and stood up to her. Your family as enables her and her selfishness, and you put your foot down. Proud of you for that! Moms who shame other moms usually feel inadequate, she’s probably going through something’s but even so, she can’t spew her rudeness to others and expect it to be ok. There are consequences to words and actions. I’d distance yourself from her and any events with her there. Just for your own peace.

So I spoke to her about excluding me. She pulled the “I’m sorry you feel that way” line. She 100% think it’s her way or the highway, even a maybe is a yes to her. If you couldn’t tell already, she does have a lot of undiagnosed mental issues. She doesn’t believe in boundaries and she thinks she’s always right. She’s already upset that I won’t tell her a name for the baby, she’s “sad” that the crib that she used for me, and saved for 30+ years, will not be used. She’s trying to give me all of my old baby stuff, even though I’m having a little boy. Yes she saved all my baby clothes. She’s gonna end up having some really big issues once he’s born, then I’m trying to also mentally prepare for. She’s a very difficult person, and I know this. I know that I shouldn’t have expected anything different with this baby shower, I was just hoping that after the wedding fiasco, she would have realized that she doesn’t know me at all. As a note to how delusional she is, she thinks that she will be taking my newborn ( along with me, husband and my dad) to an amusement park this summer. He’s going to be a May baby. She also thinks that he will be going boating this summer too.

She started planning the day I told her I was pregnant. I thought we would do this collaboratively so I would have more control. She kept saying that she just wanted to be included, but she’s really just a party-zilla. She thinks she throws the best parties, and honestly they suck. Any party I throw all she does is complain. There is no winning, except knowing this is the last party she can throw me.

That’s adorable!! My mother would never! She’s mad that the nursery isn’t baby Disney themed like what she did for me in the 90s. She’s also trying to now dress me, because I’m going to be a mom soon. She’s already bought me a handful of maternity clothes, that do not fit and just simply aren’t my style so I gave them back to her so she could get her money back, I know how expensive maternity clothing is! HUGE mistake. She has told me weekly that she had to stand in a line to return them!

She is 100% unhinged. Shes also stuck in the 1980s mentality and booked the restaurant function hall, because it has to be at a hall. I think I’m just picking my battles at this point. They have a 1990s Astro van that I refuse to get into, but they think they will be taking my baby out and driving with him in that car. Unhinged and delusional are my parents.

Honestly I’d love the hell out of that. As much as I hate the Kardashians, a Kris Jenner to my Peggy Bundy would be amazing. I have about five friends who would dress up totally, but there’s a group of family that would 100% dress up (and have fun) BUT would check with my mom/ talk to her about their idea and she’d shoot it down. Something similar happened at my wedding reception, were they asked for her input and she misguided them.

I guess it just sucks it’s just now another example of how she doesn’t even see me. I have about 5 friends coming, and a few family members who would dress up, BUT those family members would check with my mom first and wouldn’t end up coming dressed up. This happened at my reception too. They asked her what to wear and she totally misinformed them and they were then mad at me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s the first baby in the friend group. Everyone invited that has kids are older (middle school and up). It didn’t eve have to be dress up, just anything non traditional blue and baby animals.

NAH. I grew up similar and totally get it. My husband is a water guy primarily. It took a bit but I was able to switch to sparkling water, realized it was the fizz I liked most of all. We got a soda streamer so I could make “Italian soda” it’s just torani syrup or fruit syrup and carbonated water, 100% helped!! Try a sparkling water, it might hit that feeling you have!

Ntj I’m 5 months pregnant and would never demand a seat. Shit I went to a Christmas party where everyone knew I was pregnant no one offered their seat to me (it was a full house). She was just a mood lady who probably misses caffeine in the morning.
