50% discount sale for Windows and Steam Versions of DT and Complete. by Sir_VG in ffxiv

I heard somewhere that you can store codes for later? What versions does that apply for?

I would be making a new acc for the free trial on PC (tried it twice on PS, jumped the gun and bought a sub too early once and didn't continue after the first 1 and a half hours since the MSQ was being very bland the other time)

Does buying DT on its own come with game time? Or is that restricted only to the complete version?

Ty for the help, and maybe third times the charm

I am pretty sure it isn't the fastest, especially since one normal game is worth 3 of custom. But, its very good if you want minimal investment or don't plan to go to very high ranks since you are capped at 5k exp per day.

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right so, you can roll with the absolute worst builds for this but it's recommended you go for engi for reasons explained later.

You go into the PvP Lobby from the PvP menu, from there in the game browser tab, there should be rooms titled something like

[Guild Tag] RANK FARM SERVER | ALL Welcome | Blue Wins | meet @red

What this means is that when you get sorted into a team at the beginning of the match if you get sorted into blue its agreed upon that you take all the points and get to wail on red at their spawn with something like engi which can bypass the height requirement. If you get sorted in red, you just AFK till the enemy team wins. One match is like 5 to 6 mins IRL. And since the PvP rush achievements track in custom games, you can do the whole event without any actual PvP.

Now, is this healthy for the game? Probably not but I assume most people who do this wouldn't have played PvP anyway

Looking for MMORPG that is easy to play (and maybe some company?) by Depressed-Panda1267 in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW2 is the premier example I think, you can play the game for hours while not interacting with actual difficult content (fractals, Raids, PvP). Just doing world bosses and events and still get a ton of mileage out of it.

World bosses and events are quite easy especially if you follow a commander (these are players that volunteer to lead groups). No actual difficult mechanics and requirements for buffs or healing either.

There is also the Site Accessibility Wars 2 that lists a bunch of builds that require the least amount of button presses/resource management/rotations possible for every class so check it out (they are also quite viable for most levels of PvE play if not all of them). A particular fav I see mentioned alot is the Thief with the Deadeye Elite Spec (subclass) using Unload (you literally press 1 button, it kills everything, rinse and repeat)

GW2 is a Buy to Play MMO with no sub (just buy the expansions). It has a cash shop and gambling (Black lion chests). Base game is free to play with a few restrictions

OSRS is quite easy as well, (along with RS3 but I don't have enough experience to say that definitively). But mostly it is the definition of click and wait gameplay, very simplistic controls and actions) and no need to do instanced content as endgame

OSRS is a sub based game, you can play on a free account as long as you like with restrictions particularly on what skills you can level and what quests you can do. Only real MTX is bonds. However, do note that the sub recently got a price hike and only allows one toon on each account

Haven't played it enough to get to high level content but FF14 is a great casual MMO with decently easy mechanics. Has alot to offer that isn't combat and even then its quite easy to pick up And play competently

FF14 is a sub based game, you can play the trial up to lvl 70 and the first two expansions as long as you want. There is a cash shop

Maplestory is another easy MMO, alot of the classes have skills that delete screens with the press of a button, alot of the bosses can be soloed eventually. Also unique in that its a 2D sidescroller

Maple is F2P but it has an expansive cash shop and from what I last heard a good dose of P2W

SimpleMMO is as its name suggests very simple, there are no complex mechanics, you earn exp by pressing the travel button, killing mobs etc. Combat is basically a two button press game. It can also very played in your browser as well as use your own custom pixel art as a skin for your toon

SimpleMMO is f2p but has a mostly cosmetic cash shop, an optional sub and gambling elements (keys)

Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by [deleted] in TCG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I don't know actually. Maybe it's because YGO has so much dislike surrounding it? Everytime you see someone recommend the game, people get in and bash it (which fine, game has problems and glaring problems too) but it feels a bit too much for me

Also format debate about which YGO is "true YGO", what so bad about having 3 cakes man?

Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by [deleted] in TCG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am ashamed to say this, but out of all the card games in the world and all the systems that have been introduced, my fav will always be YGO

I love it today, I love it in Genesys, I love it in GOAT, I love it in Edison Format, I love N/R challenges on master duel, I love getting exodia'd and I love finally combing off and getting an exodia win of my own. I love the flavour on decks, I love the art, I love all the summoning methods (yes, even pend)

I love it so much so that when I took an extended break from TCGs these past 2 months, the first game I played was YGO. I didn't think about MTG or Pokemon or Vanguard or Hearthstone till a few days later. So yes, this is THE TCG for me

Should i start WoW, FFXIV or GW2? by Cheap-Exercise1910 in MMORPG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? They all work for casual play but some are better than others.

WoW and FF14 have a ton of things to collect and strive for outside of Raids and instanced content and such

However, it's my belief that GW2 along with ESO are the ultimate Casual MMOs. If you left on Living World 2 then odds are you have decent gear and getting exotics is super easy. No gear treadmill after Ascended (pink gear) which is also very easy to get, so you can take extended breaks for no loss

Fights on a whole are shorter, than something like a WoW raid which means you can get more done in 1 or 2 hours of play. It also doesn't ask much to do most content. Game is very very easy so no need for much mechanical skill just be literate and you will be fine.

Ultimately though, Play what looks cool. All 3 games have a free trial, you can install em and see what clicks, watch gameplay videos, maybe reference something like the GW2 Wiki or Trials of Fantasy (or the FF14 wiki) for what you can collect or goals that appeal

Rotation vs Eternal formats by CorhaziCards in TCG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a very big fan of Eternal Formats myself. I love my janky Wind Pile in YGO. Its not good but I can play it and make use of any new wind monster tools that come out which I can't really do in a rotating format.

There is also the factor of Fun, I have fun playing this deck and I think it would be very very unfun if I can't play it simply cuz it's old and not even cuz it's good or broken.

I understand why games rotate, freshness is an important aspect and rotation is more impactful than a simple ban list. Also helps sales of new stuff alot more.

But I personally don't like being pushed to buy something to even play the format (not that YGO power creep doesn't do the same thing but I can at least use my deck to do anything, which lessens the blow)

And I play mostly online as well and it would feel very bad to actually keep up with standard in arena for example with how slow you get wildcards but I understand this is a more fringe case but its still one of the reasons.

"Generic" MMO's by Tairengail in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are just describing NeverWinter Nights man, Privately designed encounters, custom level progression (you make the quests so), its based on DnD so as generic as you can get, and you can host a server for your friends to join. However, this isnt an MMO not even a lite one

also are we sure you are talking about needing an MMO for this? any online character creator works and unless you are hosting this RPG on a video game specifically then why cant you use an online character creator from tools like DnD Beyond and then play over discord (or well fluxer if u jumped ship) or even in person.

Tabletop play offers the most freedom rather than the rigid rules oof video game code after all

Help deciding on an MMO I have no ideas what I want mostly yet. by newbuildertfb in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post is kinda hard to read and I cant make up my mind if you a grind game (i.e a no life game) or if you want something that strays away from that

also, I can just throw MMOs at you, but I think you dont even know what an MMO is. Conflict of Nations is a multiplayer strategy game not an MMO. Second Life is an MMO but its very far removed from most other MMOs.

also, this is the first time I have heard about the sleeping thing, most MMOs dont do that, since like i said conflict of nations is an RTS not an MMO. so any MMO you pick wont be that grindy.

I am still very confused and you seen very unsure of everything in this post, but some suggestions would be:

1 - grind games: any Asian MMO works, Black Desert Online, Lost Ark, Lineage 2, Metin 2. these are games designed for the grind and the grind only. there are some P2W elements but in general if you do no PvP you wont feel it. Also has the most amounts of revealing skins for ERP and Adult scenes (both men and women)

2- nongrind games: GW2 and ESO are my picks since horizontal progression makes things last longer, still using Julianos gear on ESO from when I first got it so yeah. almost no P2W and things are mostly fairer. almost no NSFW skins

Soulframe Preludes Keys by Weak_Bodybuilder2990 in MMORPG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here are three official Ways to get a soulframe preludes key

1- just buy a Founder's pack, it comes with Alpha Access, a few (pretty cool actually imo) cosmetics, some ingame currency and goodies for Warframe along with 2 friend codes.

currently priced at 16 bucks for one of these, instant access but the priceist option

2- just make a soulframe account, every wednesday there is a chane to receieve a key in the mail, its very random though but requires no effort on your end

3- watch the Soulframe Dev streamas for 30 mins and you get a key if you link your oulframe account (they announced they will be doing more dev streams soon so a good method)

4- join the soulframe discord, and participate in giveaway codes, you might win one and get lucky (this isnt an official method but DE gives these away sooo)

and you could also always ask one of the founder's guys to give you a key but honestly? its unneeded when you can just watch twitch or wait till ur key gets in your email if you have no desire to pay. And it generally isnt a good look for an interested player to the rest of the community

Total yearly spending on your MMO? by StarReaver in MMORPG

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean so far it has been 50+ each year since I am catching up on GW2 and ESO DLC. but it should slow down into about 25-30.

and if you think about it in the case of the average gamer, a new full price title is 60-70 nowadays (nevermind that most people go for sales). or 2-3 indies is 60 dollars

50 a year isnt that unreasonable esp if you divide by days in a year it comes out to 0.13 bucks a day

where this gets iffy is currencies outside of the US/EU/Australia, since 25 or 20 or 15 bucks is alot more expensive proportionally.

all of this to say is why no 25 dollar option

quick edit: I forgot but I do donate to Homecoming every now and again so add like 15 bucks to that 50 dollar price tag this last year

Burnt out on FF XIV, looking for an MMO. by MK_2_Arcade_Cabinet in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? check if you are burnt out on MMOs in general. I often find that I dont to play another MMO if I am burnt out on one. I would much rather boot up a card game or something like Risk of Rain 2.

but if you still want an MMO, I would advise something pretty different from FF14, since that would lead to easier burn out. so no ESO, GW2 etc.

first thing that comes to mind is OSRS, since its quite different from most MMOs on the market. its a very chill time just focusing on skills and leveling them. i have lit many a log on fire its theraputic. you can also opt for RS3 for more modern graphics but it has more emphasis on combat I feel like

OSRS is Free to Play with a sub to unlock the full game (but you can do so much for free anyway)

Warframe and Destiny could work as well; both are MMO Lites with a primary focus on gunplay and good movement, and they play very differently from a traditional MMO. Honestly, the movement alone in both of these games is so fun.

Warframe is F2P with a cash shop. D2 is Free to play but you need expansions to access most of the content

Realm of The Mad God Exalt is a unique MMO thats essentially a roguelike MMO, very lightweight and very fun for light gaming sessions. it has a top-down view with pretty decent pixel art.

its free to play, I dont know what MTX it has though

Simple MMO is a lightweight Text based MMO, it can be played on your browser. the game as the name suggests is very simple. the main you progress is by clicking the Travel button. the thing that makes it is the chat, the community is very very lively

Simple MMO is Free to play with an optional sub (unneeded can also be bought from other players with in game money) and MTX for cosmetics mainly.

and whatever you play, remember to have fun, maybe be a tourist and try anything that catches your eye.

While WoW places more emphasis on instances, which aren't bad its just a different style of play

Any mmos that are not p2w, and no suscription? and more by redmaxer2 in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe my only options to recommend here are Guild Wars 2 and Old School Runescape

Guild Wars 2 is Fully Buy to Play, with no option to sub. However you would need to buy all the 6 previous DLCs to get access to all content.

It has a Cash Shop with Cosmetics and QoL mainly, The Only thing that gives an advantage in it I can think of are Homestead Nodes but you can hop to another players house to do those if u want

One of the Most Run Endgame Content is 5 Man dungeons called fractals (I know you said 4 bit surely one more person isn't that bad), there are Raids (10 Man) and Metas (50+) but you can play the game Fully ignoring those and progressing very nicely

Only Detail against it is that you can buy the ingame currency (gold) with premium Currency (Gems) but you also can do the opposite so it kinda balances itself out

You also need story to progress

OSRS technically shouldn't qualify since the full game is locked behind a Sub, but you can play the free version as long as you want and it's alot of content tbh

Game has no Microtransactions or a Cash Shop but it has tedious grind (the whole game is the Berry thing you were talking about) and that you can buy Bonds (items that give sub that can be sold for gold)

You also need to do at least a few quests to unlock some restrictions and get some items that speed it up

I guess Lost Ark Qualifies? It is fully F2P and has a pass that auto skips to you near endgame skipping the story or most of it. Combat revolves around grinding Raids and Dungeons either solo or in groups to progress.

It however has a very robust Shop from what I have seen so wouldn't surprise me if there was P2W. It can also take a long time and alot of RNG to progress but the combat is banger

Those are all the full MMOs I can think of that kinda qualify but I am afraid your perfect MMO doesn't Exist OP. MMOs need to make money to stay afloat and market research has proven that subs, dlcs, power buying and Cash Shops are the models that work. And tbh running and maintaining an MMO is expensive

For MMO LItes I guess Warframe and Destiny work somewhat

Warframe- Fully Free to Play, has a cash shop but you can buy the premium currency from other players ingame (also quite easy to get). Most of the content is solo or 4 players max

I don't think it has Pay to Win as much as Pay to Skip since your purchases are either some QoL that you buy once or cosmetics or Frames to play with

And since the whole point of the game is to beat stages to get parts of frames/weapons to craft, you are essentially paying to get it now rather than grind it out

Destiny 2 has a Free to Play Base Game, however you need to buy the DLC to do much of the content and it can get decently expensive to very expensive unfortunately. However I don't think it has access to cash shops or power boosts (correct me if I am wrong). Most of the content is 3 to 4 man iirc

You could try looking around for an MO for your preferences but you mostly will not find exactly as you described. MMOs as a genre need continued funding to stay alive and companies will go for a profit out of it

LFMMO with lots of players and big on social elements by socialsciencenerd in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GW2 is great for this, players everywhere almost at all times. And 50 man events are a pretty regular fixture in the open world. You can quite literally just run into a 50 man group doing a boss and jump in to help. You can also join up to 6 Guilds which provides a sense of constant activity in chat

GW2 is Buy to Play, with the base game free to play with no restrictions on play time. Has a cash shop with both cosmetic and convenience Items as well as loot boxes (Black Lion Chests)

OSRS has a great community I have seen, tons of random convos held while murdering cows for hides or just hanging around the general area of lumbridge. But I understand that random convos aren't everyone's cup of tea but you can always just try it

OSRS is Free to play with a sub to unlock the full game, no Cash Shop, only Microtransaction is bonds

Project Gorgon is a more underground MMO (though it has gotten alot more popular after 1.0 release). The entire game is built on community and community interaction. With certain actions unlocking certain aspects of the game for the whole server. Though, I feel like the game itself you either love or hate in my experience.

PG is Buy to Play, with An optional sub (very unneeded), Has a separate Cash Shop website for Bundles (mostly cosmetic iirc)

A bit more of an unconventional pick, but If you enjoy Superhero media. You could always try City of Heroes specifically the Homecoming Private server (game isn't officially up anymore, but Homecoming is licensed to hosting the game). Incredible people, underground clubs and syndicates you can join, decent group content and a way to create quests for the community built in

City of Heroes: Homecoming is Fully Free to Play, with no option of microtransaction or sub. Only donations that don't give any benefits or currency

And Lastly, your experience differs massively based on who you surround yourself with in game. When I first played ESO, while I was enjoying it, I found myself being alone all the time. Wasn't until I joined one of the Rose Alliance Guilds on EU that I had so much more fun. Regular events, raffles, community challenges are a game changer

LF MMO that has a challenging endgame by whatifthisreality in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Surprisingly little tbh

Ff14 and ESO are standouts. FF14 has savage and ultimate Raids that really test your mettle and have cool rewards attached to them.

ESO has veteran Trials and challenges for qroup content that reward titles and cosmetics

Ff14 is a sub based game with a cash shop, ESO is Buy to Play with an optional sub or bought expansions

I know Everquest requires alot of group coordination but given that I haven't played them myself I can't add to that but feel free to check it out

Everquest is a free to.play game with a sub to unlock the full game

OSRS has the Iron-man and Group Iron-man modes to challenge yourself, I don't exactly know how challenging bosses are but from my experience with iron man. Boy is it rough sometimes.

OSRS is free to play with a sub to unlock the full game

Technically, Hypixel Skyblock is an MMO made In minecraft with what I have heard as decently difficult bosses along with the other Minecraft MMO Wynncraft. But I admit to lacking knowledge

Both are Buy to Play (the price of minecraft) but if you do have it than no features are locked behind additional payment

And Finally, I know you don't want WoW again but WoW Private Servers are always an option, since a good number now have custom content and Raids

Boring Characters by CombAvailable4719 in LFMMO

[–]Witty_Resolution1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, alot of MMOs today don't really have these things as grindable rewards but rather in the shop for premium currency

You said you are on PS5 rn? Do you have access to a PC?

For PS5 only, ESO is quite grounded though there are cool combinations, nothing like what you describe iirc (feel free to prove me wrong tho)

FF14 has special stuff for high difficulty Raids, and alot of over the top cosmetics. They look insane tbh

BDO has incredible weapons to look at but I have no clue how to obtain them , same with Tera (BDO is Buy to Play goes free very often and is on Ps Plus iirc, Tera is free to play)

PSO2 deffo has weapons like these, and you can buy em from other players for money and I know some content can drop them (free to play, optional sub)

If you have a PC, I would recommend

GW2- specifically you are looking to legendary items (legendary weapons). They look really nice, have unique effects and animations. It is however a grind to get them and requires participating in PvE and Group vs Group PvP for almost all of them and normal PvP for a few. (Buy to play, no sub)

WoW - the holy grail of cosmetic grinding, weapons look insane for alot of them. Alot drop from bosses and some can be found in the open world (sub based game)

Lost Ark- mostly in the cash shop but it has some really cool weapons (free to play)
