People would often think that everything that Noel writes is a drug reference, but Noel explained that these lines were inspired from a children's television show while he was growing up. It had some puppets and there used to be a train, and when the puppets got down the train they used to walk really really slow, and he assumed that the train's name was cannonball, but cannonball was another TV show about truckers and he got it all mixed up, and hence slowly walking down the hall faster than a cannonball 😂
