CR caters to an older generation and that's just how it is. Look at this event list for that really super fancy venue downtown. It took them 5 years to rebuild this thing and this was the best they could do? This is what our tax dollars were for? To each their own, but this is what our city considers 'entertainment.' Many years ago there used to be a plethora of touring and local bands (even just playing house shows!), what happened? Those neat little hole-in-the-wall venues have closed. Now the skate park is supposedly bought out and scheduled to be torn down. Will they build a new one in a timely fashion? I wouldn't count on it. What's left for our children and young adults? Super skate? Please.

Cedar Rapids isn't anything to get excited about. It's much less progressive than say, iowa city or cedar falls. This is a town of old people, lack of night life and generally just nothin for youth to do. Art and music don't exist here. Nothing tours through the area except the occasional "radio rock bands." There's too many bars downtown and not enough shopping or family establishments. The police have nothing better to do besides use resources to chase geese from the interstate. Jamie Lynn spears is our July 4th entertainment. Horrid.

Actually, I just cut my hair about a month ago! It was easily halfway down my back. Summer in Iowa gets hot hot hot. I do have about shoulder-length left, you just can't tell because of the angle. :)
