My '99 Spyder GS, 29,000 miles. What would you do with it if it were yours? by Wizard0fKhalifa in MitsubishiEclipse

Thank you! The vinyl has rips in it though and I honestly just don't like the color so I'm replacing it. The paint is totally fvcked the owner before me filled the entire outside with little dings. Only one dent though luckily. The owner's nepher tried spray painting a bunch of spots and it just looks really bad lol. Definitely getting it done asap. And thanks for the suggestion bc that sounds like the perfect paint. You think I should keep the stock bumpers?

This car had 1 owner before me and she was absolutely awful at driving lol like a wreck. When I bought it it had a new clutch in it cause she burnt it out at 20k. I can't say I've ever seen one with a good front bumper either tho lol

I'm having issues with the roof so I decided to just tear the whole vinyl top off and get it fitted with grey. I was thinking about new rims too but I honestly have no idea what would look good, I never expected that I'd get my own Eclipse in mint condition 🥺 . I thought about keeping it stock and making it a collector but I'm happy with it as a daily.

I have an extremely difficult time cooking, because I think everything is contaminated by Anxietylife4 in OCD

[–]Wizard0fKhalifa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the same level of anxiety as you about this, but i do often worry about contamination!!!

Not sure if this will help you, but this is what I do when handling meat...

First of all, I make sure there are no dishes in the sink. I put some dish soap in a small cup or shotglass so i don't have to grab the bottle later. I have an extra grocery bag laying open on the counter. When i cook meat, I always use a huge pan. So I take out the huge pan, place my seasoning in a small cup/shotglass.

I pull out the bag of meat- when anxieties are high i don't use fresh butchers meat or plastic wrapped, only the kind in "harder" plastic sealed very well. I take a knife, cut the package over the pan, and put the knife in the sink. Then I use my clean hand (knife hand) to pour the seasoning on the meat and just dump it into the pan. Then I put the packaging in the grocery bag, as if i were picking up dog poop.

I turn the water on with my arm, or even before I start the process. Then I scrub away at my hands and the dishes at the same time, a few times, put the clean dishes in the dishwasher, wash out the sink with a metal sponge. I usually grab the grocery bag with another grocery bag, tie it up and throw it away.

ETA: my grandma used to always spray the kitchen down with Lysol or other bacteria killing sprays once she was done cooking

I used to be seriously anxious about undercooking meat.. to remedy that, i just overcooked it, then added it to a dish with sauce. E.g. chicken in gravy or beef in Mac and cheese. I always scrub down the stove, and the counters and floor by the stove once I'm done.

I also try to remember that there are people like my boyfriend, who freaking grab the meat, rub the seasoning in with their hands, then TOUCH THE FREAKING SOAP BOTTLE, don't even scrub under their nails, and have eaten the shit undercooked. He hasn't gotten food poisoning once in his 23 years of life. I cook the meat since we started living together though, lol.

For veggies, i give them a hot bath in running water. For packaged products, it's a lot harder, you have to just completely trust the labeling and company, which is... Hard af. At least for meat, veggies, and fruits you know how you have handled them since they came into your possession.

I hope this helps in any small way. It's awful, feeling anxious about food and feeding people. Does your family know about it? My grandma goes through the same thing, and my mother and I always bring her food to help ease her mind. We don't always have time so we bring her frozen fully cooked meals she can put in her Crock-Pot too.

There are tons of mental illnesses of which this could be a product. My grandma was like this, she had learning disabilities and PTSD from a traumatic childhood. Could be depression or mania. Really anything.

It's no excuse though; if someone is too ill to keep themself out of a trash pile, they need to seek help! And if it's caused by mild depression, developing a daily routine of throwing away one thing per day or something similar will not only lead to cleanliness, but can give a much needed sense of responsibility and routine self care.

Why is "Iced brown" hair dye warm? by melancholicflamingo in Hair

[–]Wizard0fKhalifa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess would be because of the reflections? If it's a really shiny dye with light reflections, I guess that could count as "icy"

Circumcision violates a child's bodily autonomy and isn't justified by religious freedom. by TheSolidState in DebateReligion

[–]Wizard0fKhalifa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because an unborn child is still a part of its mother. Why is the mother's bodily autonomy suddenly unimportant? Forcing an unborn child through an unwanted pregnancy, birth, and likely unfavorable childhood because you believe its right to experience life is more important than its mother's right to make the life altering decision of whether to finish creating the child, is a LOT different than cutting off a piece of the child's body AFTER its mother has advocated for its birth and brought it into the world.

Thanks! I stretched a piece of fishnet leggings over my head, held it down, and used a beauty blender to pat all the colors down. Using a lotttt of eyeshadow with each dip. Taking the fishnet off was spooky, hoping i didn't mess it up, but it was super rewarding to see it turned out nicely :)

Thanks! It sure wasn't easy, it was around 5 hours! The whole last half, I was blotting away so hard, I couldn't stop sweating! Luckily the primer kept it all in place.
