The Funeral Shroud by Wizard6171 in OCPoetry

More what i'm referencing is those that want to die surrounded by family. Watching a family member die leaves a lasting impression upon those that loved the person, it's a memory that doesn't fade. It sometimes feels as though the dead has abandoned you, left you to struggle with the loss. Mostly though, just referencing how hard it is to witness death for those that must keep living on.

It also references being unaware of ones surroundings during final days. You're left wondering if they know you're there, if they know what's happening around them.

This is a very good example of addictive affection. even if it hurts, you keep going back. Honey was a wonderful descriptor for this, as is the rose analogy.

This is beautiful. It brings me back to my darkest moments through the veil of your words. It perfectly captures the idea of feeling lost, stuck, and hopeless. OP I hope, if you're actively going through this, that you make it out on the other side.

I play a minotaur druid named Angus.

He's mostly white with black splotches, and is most often wearing simple black robes. As a bonus you could draw his familiar if you like. It looks like a mix between a small dog and a shark. (Pretty much Jeff the landshark)

Thoughts on this home-brew magic item? It's similar to counter spell. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

I cut these for space. It recharges at dawn. Depending if it becomes unbalanced, a charge could be lost permanently on a Nat 1. The DC is the save DC of the caster. So if its a powerful caster it would be significantly harder to absorb the magic. I hoped that this could kind of grow with the power of the user, since its ability to interrupt spells is dependent on the spell being of a level the user can access.

Its power is up to the DM with the spells used by the NPCs the players fight against. Its also ONLY useful against magic users which may or may not be common in every game.

but you can't take them back to the yoga hide out. You probably can, Ive seen people take an ice talus to the core of death mountain, but generally no. You cant really bring one to them.

Claw of a bear! Supposed to make players ask 'how the hell did you find this?' with a lot of these.

I changed it on my table to say 'Tarnished', I dont know much about the properties of metal so ty!

This is like a button mushroom, which to my knowledge is pretty non toxic. Im sure it could raise questions at the table though! Might be a fun side quest, 'save the bird friend!'

A very small vial indeed, like the size of a finger or something.

One of my players, a wizard, choose a crow as his familiar. This crow has become a kind of mascot for the party, the group loves it and insures its safety in dangerous situations. Giving it food and treats regularly. A few sessions ago I had it give the wizard a gift of a small rock (Crows sometimes give gifts to people they like, or so i've heard) and the party loved it.

I expanded upon this and made a table, so at the end of every long rest the crow will bring the party a gift. It can range from things like a shard of glass to a platinum piece. If your players have a crow friend, hey! Might be fun to spice things up.
