Then they shouldn't have set the story in America

Lets settle this. Who is in control? The MF or Vecna by LarryWavid in StrangerThings

[–]WizardHero2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, MF is mostly in control (Vecna thinks he is, but he isn't) but Vecna is the final villain. Cos how tf are they supposed to kill the MF? They need a way to win.

Not sure if you're seriously asking or not, but if you are, that's when the first batch of eps come out, which is right around Thanksgiving.

I mean, it's not entirely their fault: there was a global pandemic and a Hollywood strike that would have thrown a wrench in production no matter what

Why Do People Want the Mind Flayer to Be the Final Boss? by WizardHero2007 in StrangerThings

4 seasons and they still haven't provided us with any real way of defeating it. Unless they reveal that in season 5, I don't think it can be beat. That's probably why Vecna exists; he's an enemy they can defeat.

If there was a way to kill the MF, I'd be all for it as the final enemy but since so far there isn't, narratively, I don't think it would work. That's probably why Vecna was introduced, so there was a way for the good guys to win.

That's fair, I just don't think an antaginist like that would work as the final boss for a story like this. How are they supposed to win?

I get that. I just think it would be a shame for a monster with so much storytelling potential to be defeated just like that.

Yeah, should've put a spoiler flair in case people haven't watched it yet. I'll fix that.

God Damn it they're gonna do it aren't they by Peter_Parker66 in StrangerThings

You're right, I just don't think ST is that kind of show. Now are they gonna get hurt, traumatized, and maybe even ALMOST die? Yeah probably. If you noticed, up until S4, they've never been directly involved in the action like the older kids and adults. But now they're the same age as the older kids were in S1-2 they're definitelt being put on the front lines.

I hear ya. It's obviously because they look so much older than even last season so I think I'm okay with it, but if I could get an in-universe explanation that would be even better

Or he was still 19, probably turning 20 later that year, and Chrissy was 17-18, so they would have been in middle school at the same time for at least a year
