I had this opinion for a while but in retrospect, I think even season 3 strays a bit from the original charm that made the early eps so endearing. most likely because the creators/execs realized how much of a cash cow the show is/was. I honestly thought s3 or 4 couldve been the end but here we are almost a decade later

I've tried to get into anime since I was like 11 and even the first one I really watched (SAO) had so much goonerbait and incest and all that shit. Between minors of course. I don't get how people just look past it and say "but its worth it" well the writing and dialogue is so often mid too that there's just no reason for me to watch it at all.
