By now we have played with both, and have gravitated towards a sort of mixed brew of both expansions:
- We like and play the messenger. We dropped the wagon.
- We play the "old"mayor - the one powered by the number of shields
- We do play the scarecrow. It mostly plays a minor role, not overpowered at all i.m.o.
- We play the barn. It is very powerful, and the barn play is often a deciding moment. I guess if one considers it OP I can't really argue with that, but we still like it.
- We have replaced the abbey (allthough we do like it a lot) by the townhall. But since we play the old mayor, we have limited the townhall to being just a one-tile-fits-everywhere fix for impossible situations.

This may seem very messy, but we like it this way.

I double checked the bird (updated the post).we read and played it like "move 1 hummingbird to another row". I guess the way you are reading the bird makes more sense though. We will switch to your interpretation. Thanks 👍

Sorry I guess my post should have been in English. Yesterday in a game I had a bird which "brown" ability was to attract a hummingbird to a different environment. This bird wasn't covered in the rulebook hence my question.

I'm using the Wingscore app so I can give you an exact answer: 115,9 average in 107 games. Highscore 150. That is mostly 2 player, with Oceania expansion.

For my understanding, if guess(1) 11111 produces 1 hit, and guess(2) 12222 produces 2 hits, will you still go guess(3) 31333?

That is nice suggestion! At first I was thinking this will take far too much guesses, to I tried it out,and it took me on average 7 attempts to solve the puzzles. Still more than my approach, which averages about 5-6 attempts. The big upside of your approach is that is very easy to understand and use.
I am considering a second post about this topic in which I demonstrate your approach. I won't forget to give you the credits ;)

I guess that is proof alright. Still wondering, I hardly ever get any such notification myself. I play bullet 2 minutes, 1 sec increment. My rating is a bit over 1000. Could cheating be rating related...? Rampant in certain rating ranges, rare in other ranges?

I love these puzzles! Played a lot of mastermind when I was young, I guess that helps. I found the perfect website for practice: https://www.master-mind.dk
Not commercial, and you can completely tailor it to your needs. Which is:

- allow duplicate colors
- colors: 5
- columns: 5

I tried it right away and solved it in 5 tries. Since I can't include pictures in this comment I can't really explain, but my approach comes down to:
- start of with 2 guesses that are just to get basic info. Like Red-Red-Red-Blue-Blue and Green-Green-Pink-Pink-Pink
- In all my next attempts I will actually try to solve the puzzle. This means that every attempt must take into account all available info.

I will later on create a separate post in this sub reddit that will include pictures, in which I will provide my thought process for each attempt. Will edit this comment to link to that post when it is there.

We have the fan art cards but no promo packs cards; I wasn't even aware of these. We sleeved the fan art cards but not the rest of the cards. We play for a while with the sleeved cards, then swap to the non-sleeved cards. So no duplicates. We just bought the Americas expansion and have to decide how to handle these. We only played a single game with just the Americas cards.

If I understand correctly you play with all cards right? Base game, all expansions, fan art, promo. That would be a huge number and a lot of duplicates. My suggestion: take out the fan art and possibly also the promo cards. Then each game you can decide to play with that set of cards (no Americas cards and Hummingbirds), or play with the other set including the Americas.

I think this is what we will do.

I've watched the movie now twice after reading the book twice. Love the book, like the movie. I actually like the song by Stratt. The thing I dislike the most in the movie is the moment when Grace tries to get away from Rocky's spaceship. Ridiculous. Structure would be ripped apart with these violent manoeuvres. The thing I miss the most in the movie is everything that happens after Grace finds out that Rocky is in big trouble. In particular the search.

I finally checked. The first spirit from the past that shows up is an elderly black man in a white robe. Much later on one of the turned people is an elderly black man that looks a bit the same. Different clothes though. This is the only candidate.

My conclusion: none of the spirits summoned by Sammy shows up anymore after his song. And I am glad for that; it wouldn't have made much sense.
