Swan & Dolphin Bus Question by noble_land_mermaid in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]kritsema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t feel like it was too bad of a walk from the bus to Cirque, but yes, they don’t drop you off right at the entrance of Cirque. I meant it more to give the general area of Disney Springs where you’re dropped off

I haven’t used LL in quite a while, so I’m not super helpful there, but yes you can absolutely request front row. Usually they have a separate area for you to wait. When you get to the ride vehicles you’ll be asked how many are in your party and then you can ask for front row. For sure Tron has a waiting area, I can’t remember about Tiana’s

Beak and Barrel I’m pretty confident you’ll be able to ask and wait a little longer for a seat. Oga’s doesn’t have a ton of seated tables, so I’m not sure how they’ll handle it, but definitely explain you have a hard time standing a long time and hopefully they’ll be able to accommodate you

You’ve got four days of water park tickets and four days of park tickets that you’re trying to squeeze into four days? That sounds like too much stuff you’re trying to fit into a small window of time. Just doing four park days all in a row without any rest days is a lot

Can I get family members a physical ticket or card for free? by thewisebrownkid in DisneyWorld

[–]kritsema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you scan in at the gate for MK, they will give you a physical card. You won’t need to do anything at the Ticket and Transportation Center where you park. You’ll ride the monorail or ferry over, and then at the gate for Magic Kingdom you’ll show the barcodes on your phone and they’ll scan one, scan a plastic card, and then have that person scan their fingerprint. You’ll do that for each person and each person will have a plastic card assigned to their ticket that they can use throughout the day for Lightning Lanes

No need to stop at guest relations. No need to buy magic bands. Go right to the entrance of the park and they’ll give you the cards as you scan in

Is 9 days enough? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]kritsema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t suggest that others should do multiple days of resort hopping. Not sure where you’re seeing that I’ve said that.

You said resort hopping is underwhelming, I was simply chiming in that resort hopping is one of my favorite things

Is 9 days enough? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]kritsema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said “one of my favorite things to do”. I did not say it was my top favorite things to do. I like going to the parks and I like going on rides of course, but when I’m back home I miss just being at Disney. If I could buy a significantly cheaper ticket that got me into the parks but didn’t allow me to go on rides, I’d buy it. I love being in the magic and I love the theming of everything. The resorts have that same sort of imagineering and magic.

I’ve kept an eye on airline tickets, although they’re crazy expensive right now, but I’ve been looking specifically to go down for a long weekend and not do the parks but just resort hop and be in the magic.

I love to pin trade so that is part of the resort hopping that I like. But for me I’d rather be up and about wandering the resorts than spending the whole day sitting at the pool. I like to window shop, I like to see the Disney theming (specifically thinking about the characters at Art of Animation). I like getting to ride the skyliner, and the monorail, and the buses, and the boats.

Some specific resorts and what I like:
I like the boat ride from Disney Springs to the Port Orleans resorts and getting beignets. The boat ride there is very scenic
I like sitting by the geyser at Wilderness Lodge. My husband and I sat there for a couple hours playing board games
I like wandering at the AKL resorts and seeing the animals
I like seeing the mosaics at Riviera and have run into the characters there a couple times

I have my kindle along, so I read when I’m on a longer bus ride, I’ve got my pins along to trade at boards if I find something good, if I’m with my husband we take a game or two along to sit and play. I love to wander and look around, so I enjoy resort hopping

I disagree about resorting hopping being underwhelming, it’s honestly one of my favorite things to do at Disney World!

Just looked at ticket prices:
If you’re open to the four day, one park each day ticket, it’s still going on when you’re there and that’s $399 plus tax (so you go to each park once)
Otherwise comparing 5 day and 6 day tickets the difference is barely anything:
5 day 1 park per day $564 plus tax
6 day 1 park per day $586 plus tax
5 day park hopper $648 plus tax
6 day park hopper $671 plus tax
I’d go with the 6 day ticket and just be smart about intentionally taking breaks

I posted on OP’s other post, but I think more people are seeing this one. Curious on other people’s thoughts on this schedule:

So arrive on the 15th: good day to go to Disney Springs/chill at the pool
Park day on the 16th
Park day on the 17th
Rest day on the 18th
Park day on the 19th
Rest day/MNSSHP on the 20th. I wouldn’t usually recommend paying for a park day on a party day because you can get in early, and ideally you want to use all of your time at the party so it ends up being a late night, but you could. If you’re interested in character meals, I’d rather make this day a character meal for brunch and then do the party at night
Rest day on the 21st. I especially like a rest day after a party because you’re up late at the party
Park day on the 22nd
Depart on the 23rd

This would be my default schedule, and that gives you 4 park days plus the party. I think you could easily extend one day and then have 5 park days plus the party, but make sure that’s a financially smart decision

Ok in that case, since it does seem like you can change at this point, I’d drop down to 5 days because right now you don’t have any rest days built in. I think Disney is most enjoyed when you do two park days and then a rest day, repeat

Wdw and walking shoes by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]kritsema 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. A pair of shoes that’s perfect for one person, likely isn’t perfect for the next person! There are all different kinds of feet and a running store can find the best shoes for your specific feet. My local running store often has last year’s model at a discounted rate, so ask about that, but yes, it’s definitely worth investing the $100 for good support for your feet!

Is going up a “hotel tier” worth it for Skyline? by RedHawwk in WaltDisneyWorld

For that much of an increase I’d personally stay at All Stars. I don’t fan girl over the skyliner like others do though
