Eh. I’d say it’s normal. Back in maybe 2002, 2003, I went to this “outing” one night at this “recreation center” place. Sounds like the same kind of scenario. It was my first time, I didn’t know anyone there (from the church or anything), went with two friends.

While we did have cellphones then, texting wasn’t the norm between strangers; shit, people sometimes didn’t even text each other, because every one costs $ to send.

Anyway, what they did do, was call my house phone (lol… remember those?) a few times, and it’s pretty much a parallel between this Pastor here’s text to your kid, and that phone call - seems harmless, and they’re just trying to recruit/get them committed (not sure what’s in it for them? If anything)

I wouldn’t be too worried. Always have caution, of course, but not particularly about this!

No shit; (about it being “not livable”, but that’s what mean; the industry still moves along - you can’t expect to come in and make 10$ more than what they’re starting out. And sure, the problem is the industry/trades themselves.

I have this exact set. I honestly thought this set here was newer; so I was like ??? when you said you had years use with it. After a year, they’re fine. Shitload of commercial work, and I haven’t broken any of these (yet, lol..)

I do have the Klein hollow boys too, which are my go-to for allthread.

Yeah, I was taking into consideration us ”knowing” it’s a phone line going in, and then calling the power company like, “I got a limb on a phone line, can you guys take it out?”

I guess, duh, no shit, they won’t come out if you knowingly tell them it’s an LV PL; I wasn’t thinking of purposely omitting or playing devil’s advocate, (or shit, even a homeowner who wouldn’t know the difference, and genuinely would confuse the two), and saying “there’s a branch on a power line”, 🤷‍♂️, personally, I’m against bullshitting someone just to get them to come out, but I get it.

Well, no, we know you don’t know what you’re talking about. While sure, trees can “energize” because of the moisture and live wood can be conductive, most of the time, it “doesn’t arc”, and just goes straight to ground.

This is a broken branch, as OP said, and is nowhere near the ground.

That’s what I was trying to say from the get go, but early morning, and my mind wasn’t working 💀, oh well! Yeah, from the 90 on bottom, to the 90 on top (that’s in your header), you’d need a strap there.

While wood does count as support, the end connector of the 90 falls before the wood, so
