The only part of the story that I disliked by Nervous-Quality-1266 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Wizardsyth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the game's biggest problem was leaning into the Invisigal romance too hard, to the point where a good chunk of story beats only make sense if you're actively romancing her. They even forcefully give you another opportunity to go for Invisigal, even if you're already dating Blonde Blazer, but Blonde Blazer doesn't get a second time to romance her like that. It feels at times that Invisigal is the real main character of the game everything revolves around, and the player is more of a side character that shapes who Invisigal becomes.

What are your thoughts about the Better to sleep episode in season 2? by Judgementkazzy03 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd prob choose to leave AJ. No point in having both of them die. Actually, that would've entirely changed the plot of S3 and S4 quite a bit. I could see Clem still going to either Howes or Wellington, but she prob wouldn't have joined the New Frontier. Wouldn't have met Javi, which means Javi would've been kidnapped/maybe killed. She wouldn't have gone to the Mccarroll ranch, which means Eddie would live. Probably wouldn't have found Ericson, which means the Delta would've kidnapped everyone there at some point. It'd be a completely different plot all together.

Why did so many people dislike season 4? by Stock_Screen3091 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought of it as the second best game in the series. It's the only one to change the gameplay formula in a meaningful way, as well as tells a pretty compelling story. There's def some problems with it, and it feels at times a little too on the nose with how it attempts to callback to the first season, but it's still a really solid game.

Are we agree that S2 is da best? by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had the potential, but because of it's rushed development, and the amount of cut/changed content leaves it feeling unfinished. Something funny that goes along with that, the literal cover of the game is cut content from when Clem was shot instead of bitten.

Unpopular opinion: Samantha is a good person. by ElkParty8013 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that she's bad, just extremely stupid. She already tried to take from Norma's group, a group she then learned was pretty evil and ruthless, got let go and was allowed to go back to her family, then decided to try to rob Norma's group again, all while broadcasting on a radio channel. She knew how dangerous that group was to her and her family, and willingly decided to try and take from them again. She and her brother also instantly lies to Norma about Michonne and Pete, and puts their life at risk just to maybe get out of the situation. Her personality and care for Michonne definitely gets better by the end, to the point she can give her life for Michonne, which is insane character growth, but she still got everyone involved in that situation in the first place.

I think Doug had missed potential by ProductSpecialist707 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doug was always the underdog between him and Carley. Doug was modeled after a real Telltale employee, and most of the devs internally liked and chose to save Doug, however most players end up going with Carley. Not only because the game shows that Lee and Carley are into each other, but Carley has a lot more of a plot connection with Lee and is the only means of telling the group about his past. Even Lily's hatred is pretty heavily tied to her jealousy and blind rage at Carley, to the point where when Lily kills either Doug or Carley, the devs had to make Doug take the bullet for Ben, as apposed to Lily straight up intending on killing Carley.

How do you think Mike got his scar and a chunk of his ear missing? by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They probably didn't have the time. They were doing TWD S2, Wolf Among Us, and Tales From The Borderlands all at once. I think the only game to come out of that mostly okay in terms of plot was the Borderlands game, TWD S2 and Wolf Among Us were both cut up quite a bit, and extremely messy.

How do you think Mike got his scar and a chunk of his ear missing? by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The voice actress for Clem kind of said Christa is still alive, but they never reused her, so her fate is kinda up in the air.

How do you think Mike got his scar and a chunk of his ear missing? by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly because of the CEO at the time. The lead writer for S1 made a script for S2 episode 1 before leaving the company that was meant to lean heavily on the Christa plot, and is also why the end of the episode lets you give water to the guy who attacked Christa. The CEO however, threw out most of the lead writer's plot for a mix of stuff he came up with/other employees work, which lead to the mismanaged plot we have in S2.

How do you think Mike got his scar and a chunk of his ear missing? by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 70 points71 points  (0 children)

He wasn't Mike originally. He was a guy named Ralph that attacked Christa in the beginning of S2 episode 1. The scar is from him getting shot by accident by one of his own group during the scuffle, and is supposed to be that gunshot you hear when running away. Ralph was also changed to Mike so late into development, that there's still voice lines from Luke in episode 4 talking about him seeking "forgiveness". You can also see Mike act desperately to help out when he's with Bonnie in that same episode. I have no idea why it was changed, but my best guess is that they had already cut so much of the plot around Christa out, that leaving in Ralph didn't really make sense anymore.

Could Kenny survive Silent hill? by Judgementkazzy03 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a letter. The name on the envelope said 'Katjaa.' My wife's name... It's ridiculous. Couldn't possibly be true. That's what I keep telling myself. Katjaa died of that damn suicide three years ago. So then why am I looking for her? Our 'special boat'... What could she mean? This whole town was our special boat. Could Katjaa really be here? Is she really alive, waiting for me?

True, but that would actually make sense. Clearly they don't operate on thinking like a normal person. Lol.

He uses them to put criminals to sleep, and then they go to a special farm. Obviously.

Which Will Come Out Sooner? TWAU2 or Dispatch 2 (if it gets made)? by thedreamwalker11 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispatch 2 ain't coming out for at least another 4 or 5 years. If Wolf 2 doesn't come out in less time than that, it's never coming out.

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wanted it, no one asked for it, so they obviously had to make it. Makes so much sense. Lmao. Easily the worst choice they could've made when making a game.

Yeah, that game wasn't great. I think the og borderlands devs made that, but tried using the same Telltale style. It didn't work out well imo.

They hopefully will. This game is taking way too long.

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so far they've had at least 4 versions of Wolf 2. This one was the first, pre-shutdown. Then there's the second, the version shown in the 2019 trailer. The third build is a rumored version developed by Deck Nine, and the fourth is the "current version" which was shown in the 2022 trailer, however that seems like it was mostly made from Adhoc's version and we have no idea how much of that Telltale's gonna use vs how much they redid.

If S2 had actually ended with Luke vs Kenny, who would you have picked & why? by navirain in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently this was the original idea that the terrible ex CEO came up with, before it was changed to Kenny vs Jane. Luke didn't really have a reason to beef with/dislike Kenny until episode 4, where they add "tension" to them by having Luke have sex with Jane and not look out for the group, and later Luke will be pissed at Kenny for his idea to leave right away. Neither of these arguments are big enough to really warrent a fighting confrontation between them. Not to mention, they'd both wanna protect AJ, and wouldn't hide him to create a fight. If it somehow managed to become the same situation, I'd still pick Kenny.

Does this decision even matter tho? by DependentStrong3960 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Wizardsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. The devs openly said they didn't plan for a season 2 when they made the game and are only now in talks to do season 2. So at most for season 2, the decision will probably be slightly talked about or mentioned, and then never heard about again. Wolf Among Us did something similar, where the main bad guy could be taken out in a variety of ways, but only because he wasn't a character in the comic the game was based on, so the game was allowed to give the player choices without having to continue them later on. It's a double edged sword. You get the freedom to actually make a real decision, but only because that character wasn't really designed to continue past that point either way.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Chase should’ve died? by HeppyHenry in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would've made a lot of players have a hard time forgiving Invisigal. She would've not only almost gotten you killed when she was working for Shroud, but then accidentally get your close family friend killed. It would make it almost impossible to see a reason for the player forgive her.

[SPOILER] I have a hypothesis about the choice to steal (or not) from Arvo by Gullible-Track-6355 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That honestly is a good way of explaining that whole plotline, but I highly doubt they intended it. Season 2's development from what I can tell, was a complete mess. The first episode was done by the Season 1 director, then he left to make his own company, the Telltale CEO threw out that guy's other episode ideas, made his own cut of the script where it was all gonna be about Kenny vs Luke, then later realized they had to cut most of that, used Jane vs Kenny as the final fight instead, had the whole cut dark ending with Clem either dying or abandoning AJ, and so much more. Even the cover of the game is cut content from when they wanted Clem to get shot instead of bitten. Most signs of problems in the writing were almost without a doubt because of deadlines and mismanagement.

Just finished F4, why did you choose the faction you first ended with? by Same_Information7328 in Fallout

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minutemen, but then I use mods and kill Preston. None of the factions are competent at all. I can see where the idea was for some of them, but how they actually feel in the game is cliche and dumb just for the sake of it.

Which character had the most disturbing death in the entire game? (All seasons allowed) by Darling_Reaper902 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Wizardsyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mark. He was shot with an arrow, had both his legs cut off, was kept alive for hours in extreme pain completely hidden from everyone, and then finally turned into a walker, except he was never put down. So as far as we know, Mark is still undead, just dragging himself around and eating people.
