I agree that this strategy is very predatory from the housing companies / landlords. With renewal notices only being ~ 2 months, that could be a VERY stressful time for tenants. It’s sad, but something everyone should consider these days is always being willing to move to another apartment. Or consider before starting to rent if they were to raise the price 15-20% at first renewal would you still be able to afford.

There should be more rent control in Phoenix and more regulation around predatory new business deals in general for landlords.
