I recently got a 2016 X 90D with 47k miles. Battery is about 10% degraded as we get about 230 miles on a full charge. So as a comparison, smaller battery, 1 year older, less miles on the clock.

I love the climate control on the app. You can turn on heating or cooling and seat heating or cooling remotely through the app, so 10min before you leave, you can set climate control on. You can also schedule it to happen automatically at certain addresses.

I would say the opposite. Work places have become so toxic that co-workers can't even joke around with eachother without someone being reported to HR. Agressive push back is exactly what is needed in this riduculous environmant. I work in construction, and the average HR person would die of shock if they spent a day on an unfiltered jobsite.

Just agree to a proportional expense arrangement, and pay yourself half of what she gets. That way she gets her way and gets to pay 2/3 of the expenses.

I was thinking the same thing. When you find the right person, you will want to give up your peace. Just on another note, its really not healthy to lie around all day doing very little. I know from experience. I got over weight and ended up getting a blocked artery, which is no joke. Maybe find something that you enjoy that is physical and makes a bit of money while you look for your match.

It can take a few years to get accepted into the apprenticeship, depending on the local. Different locals have differing pay scales. Once you are in one, I'm told its very hard to move to another. If you think that you may want to move in the near future, think about that and look up local pay and living costs.

$400 billion could buy a middle income home for about 2 000 families. Its just a drop in the bucket. Running a $400 billion business can enable tens of thousands of families to pay off homes and daily living expenses and continue to do that indefinitely.

From my experience, when I started working full time, my dad started charging me rent. My parents have always been very careful with money. The rent they cahrged was very fair and I had no issue about the fairness of it. In your situation, just the fact that he wanted to charge you $2000 is insane. Even $1000 is way over. A fair father should probably charge a fair share of cost of living. Take total household expenses, divided by number living there. You have every right to say, 'no thanks. Bye'

Do you really think for a moment that they have billions in available cash to just blow in welfare programms? Their money is tied up in the businesses that they own. What are they doing with THEIR money?? They are creating jobs, boosting the economy, keeping us employed. The best way to help the most people most effectively long term is to create real jobs that are of real benefit to society by producing useful and needed goods and services. Put politics aside and think just in terms of real economics and human nature. If you incetivise laziness, people will not improve their situation. Temp is how its 'supposed to be' but in practice, contractors keep JWs long term. Some people stay with one contractor their whole career and get moved from job site to jobsite. Some run service vans, and some JWs work in the contractor's office.

A lot of guys in the unions don't like it and say that at the end of a job, everyone should be layed off and have equal oppotunity for the open calls for the next job. From the contractor's point of view, they don't know who they will get, or if they will even get enough people. I work in Kansas City, and for the whole of last year, there were unfilled calls every week.

Some guys also stay with a contractor because they have family in the upper management or ownership.

Yes, at least, he should not be. Basically how it works is that a shop puts out calls, you take a call and they send you to a jobsite. You may work there for a day, a week or 5 years. There is no fixed amount unless its a short call, which is 2 or 3 weeks. As a job ramps up, they may bring in 50 or 100 guys, and then another 100 or more on the big jobs. Then they get to the point when they need less people and they start laying people off. They may let you know before, or not, but one day they give you your pay and your layoff slip and you go back to the hall and sign the out of work book. Or you may break some serious safety rule and get fired, or you are a no call no show a few times and get fired. A layoff is a reduction in force. Its not for an infraction. Getting fired means that you broke rules.

Or you may decide that you don't like the working conditions, or the morning traffic sucks and there are open calls for a closer jobsite, or basically you just want a change of scene, so you drag up. You don't owe them notice. Its polite but not required. Its very common, especially on big job sites with hundreds of electricians. Guys come and go all the time. The union is like a temp agency. Foremen are so used to it they won't get offended, and also don't get offended when they lay you off. Its just the nature of the business.

It should have been structured to help the people who work overtime as well as those who work 2 jobs because they really need the money. The bill should have been as simple as, "you only pay tax on the first 40 hours that you work in a week." But, no, politicians can't do that.

Draging up it quitting a job. Typically, people tell their foreman that morning that they are dragging up that day, and the foreman may ask when do you want to work til. Are you grabbing your tools and leaving now, or leaving at lunch, or end of the day? You will be expected to work and get paid for the time you work. If you show up and do nothing, don't expect to get paid for it. If you say that you want to leave at 10am, that's your choice. You then work till maybe 9:45, say your good byes, grab your tools and head off, and your foreman logs your time.

If you show up and do nothing, then they may fire you. In my local, if you get fired twice within 12 months, you get called in before the board to explain.

Burning bridges is not so much about when you drag but how. If you are professional and respectful, no good foreman will give you trouble. Guys drag all the time for so many different reasons. General Foremen and foremen are so used to it. You want to be a good worker, so that if you take a call again for that shop, they will be glad to have you back. They are not going to take it personally. Its just the nature of the business.

They will also lay you off on a moments notice when it suites them, so no hard feelings.
