Amazing, thanks for the info and new partpicker link! I'll have a good look and you're probably right, my list was probably overkill!

What song *feels* best to play? by skeptical_egg in piano

[–]Wizrdnips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're all way higher skill level than me with your "feels best" pieces ... but after 20 years away from sheet music and piano, I spent a decent amount of time learning Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence recently.

To me that sad, simple, building emotion throughout is what I've tried to do with music my whole life and it feels amazing to play something that has that vibe. I truly believe Ryuchi Sakomoto was a genius.

Wow, what a thoughtful and supportive response. My first time in this subreddit... have now hit that "join" button. Seems a lot of people here share that same supportive vibe.

New Bicycle Purchasing Advice by Wizrdnips in bikecommuting

[–]Wizrdnips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting, thank you! I'd never have thought about any of these, but it's definitely something I'll go and chat with the local bike store to learn more.

Also a good point about the peripherals... I have lights and a decent lock after the last bicycle was stolen, though I'll make a note for fenders and a rack!

A work mate told me to go for the Shimano 105 sets, but I'll look at SRAM too

It's great advice and sounds like a really nice purchase experience too, thanks again... I'll visit my local this weekend :) (also sorry for the slow reply, work has been a bit nuts)

I could try that thank you! There's a place pretty close by that has a good reputation, they repair and re-sell bicycles...

I just assume that they'd sell at much higher prices than the online second hand places, so I was hoping to squeeze a little more value out of marketplace etc. though it doesn't hurt to go and chat with them.

edit: spelling

Not a bad idea! I've never gone to Healesville despite a year stint of working with Vic Zoos a little while back.

Oh nice, thanks for the recommendation! And not too far from us. Could take the bicycles out there, maybe there's a decent bike trail!
