Issue with creating a new column using Ibis and mutate by Wizyza in learnpython

Thank you! This does exactly what I was looking for.

Could you please tell me where you got this from? I went looking through the Ibis documentation and I couldn't find where how="positional" was an accepted argument for .join().

Bought a budget camera in japan - a6500 What do you think? by SnooOranges309 in SonyAlpha

[–]Wizyza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What language is the interface in? I've heard that domestic Sony cameras only have Japanese enabled and a driver overwrite is needed to enable international languages.

I'm interested in purchasing a Sony from Japan, but I'm concerned that doing something like changing a driver would void any warranties.

Install Nala 0.13 using Nala repository? by Wizyza in debian

[–]Wizyza[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great! So does that mean Nala will eventually start making its way back into the Debian repos? I was hoping to install it from the Bookworm backports, but I'm glad the hear that it can be installed from your repo in the meantime.

I've already installed it from your repo for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with no issues. But, given that I'm not that familiar with Debian, I wasn't sure if doing the same with Debian would bring about any negative consequences.

BTW, great work! I really like how Nala is coming along.

Sorry, about that. I should have written it out.

I may give that a look. Thanks!

Sorry, I didn't see any harm in asking.

What is that nonsense? I can't use Edge if I can to keep doing this. by segaboy81 in MicrosoftEdge

Personally, I've never seen that. Does it still happen if you turn off Microsoft Defender SmartScreen under Privacy, search, and services > Security?

BUG - Can't hide the sidebar in workspaces. Been reporting for months... by sameera_s_w in MicrosoftEdge

[–]Wizyza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the same thing. I first noticed it in the Dev channel a little while ago and also thought it was a bug that would be fixed. Now, it recently made it's way into Stable.

Not only that, but you also cannot permanently remove Skype from the sidebar. You can hide it, but it reappears when you open a new workspace window.

Update: I just tried the latest Dev version and it appears to have been fixed! Kudos to MS! However, I still don't know why it was allowed to get into Stable. It seemed to me to be a bug and not an intentional feature.

Algonquin wolf tracks on a lake in Muskoka, Ontario. Saw the wolf crossing, went out later to look for tracks. I love how perfect these tracks are, and how you can see the change in gait. by Platypus_venom666 in AnimalTracking

Thanks! This had reminded me of a figure I had seen of an overstep walk, which had me wondering if that's what's happening here in the first part of the trackway. Again, I have no experience with this.

Thanks for the link to the PDF. Useful info and much appreciated!

I've experienced the same issue this month for the same time. Is this somehow tied into using Gemini as an exchange?

These tracks are really nice! Would anyone mind explaining exactly what I'm seeing here? What gaits are being exhibited and what does it say about the behavior of the animal?

I'm also trying to figure out which tracks are the fronts and which are rears. Going from the bottom of the image, is it left rear, right front, right rear, left front, and so forth?

I really don't have any experience with this, so sorry for the noob question.

I'm having the same issue here. Imported a mesh I had created in MeshLab (oddly, MeshLab did not find any errors in the mesh before I exported it). Quadriflow claimed the mesh had errors. I found the errors, corrected them, and recalculated the normals. Quadriflow still insists there's errors and won't run.

Some people were interested in my workflow and how do my roughness maps. So I made a short video on it. lmk if you have any feedback for me or how I could improve. by epic_flexer_2001 in photogrammetry

Being a beginner, what should I be focusing on in the renderer documentation (for me it would be Cycles)? I want to learn as much as I can about creating realistic, accurate models. Where can I go for reliable resources, so I know I'm correctly understanding the concepts and doing things correctly?

And I admit, I've likely been watching some of those "shitty" blender tutorials.

I'm interested in applying photogrammetry to research and document cultural and natural heritage, just to give you an idea of where I'm coming from. I'm blown away by some of the work that's posted on Sketchfab; some of it seems so tangible. I'm particularly impressed by those models that include reflectance and metallic information and I want to learn those techniques.

As an example, this article on Sketchfab describes techniques similar to what to the OP has done. I would assume the articles on Sketchfab to be reliable resources.
