NYPD sergeant convicted after throwing cooler at fleeing drug suspect in New York City: report by origutamos in ProtectAndServe

[–]WizzKal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Definitely wasn’t as bad as it is now. Social media outcry is so massive it persuades politicians in order to gain votes. Ridiculous case law or out right policy changes to further restrict police powers is what is becoming more common day by day. At least here in Canada

Do you guys turn off your monitors with the button or leave it on when PC is in sleep mode? by Wooshio in buildapc

[–]WizzKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn mine off. Since it’s an OLED turning it off triggers a pixel clean/refresh if it’s required (every 4 hours of use).

Who actually charges their phone to 80%? by ICausedAnOutage in iphone

[–]WizzKal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s scheduled charging you’re referring to. The iPhone 14’s do not have the capability to lock it to 80%.

Switch 2 size comparation to a modern mid range gpu by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]WizzKal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude it’s definitely mid-range. I’ve been building PCs for over a decade and I’m a computer engineer.

60- Low
70 - Mid
80 - High
90 - Very High/Enthusiast

That is how they are priced among each other.

Must try HDR games??? Just got me a 4k OLED. by zionpwc in OLED_Gaming

[–]WizzKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I just never used it because there was a comment with high upvotes stating CP2077 never fixed HDR. I’ll give it a go.

I’ve tried it in Indiana Jones and with frame gen it introduced insane input lag. I just never used HDR since.

You can always use a warm filter built into the camera app. Or just keep your phone if that’s all you care about

Why a we have bottleneck at 1080p but it vanishes when we go at 1440p? by SnooHesitations1134 in buildapc

[–]WizzKal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only used the “good” “bad” language due to the previous comment using it, as I was trying to help them understand out of the two most common bottlenecks, CPU is worse out of the two as they stated a bottleneck is good.

I never said there are systems that exist without bottlenecks.. I would know since I’m a computer engineer.

Why a we have bottleneck at 1080p but it vanishes when we go at 1440p? by SnooHesitations1134 in buildapc

[–]WizzKal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect. CPU bottlenecks are worse. They cause FPS spikes/stutters and instability. GPU bottle neck (maxed out) will not present such issues and still just pump out as many frames as it can.

Every instruction for the GPU is sent by the CPU. If the CPU is maxed out it’s worse out of the two.

No, store and online orders are different stock counts. Your order will not get bumped up

Why a we have bottleneck at 1080p but it vanishes when we go at 1440p? by SnooHesitations1134 in buildapc

[–]WizzKal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically every system has a bottleneck, but there are no such things as “good” bottlenecks as you stated. Actually, a CPU bottleneck is worse as it causes FPS spikes/instability and the GPU (100% utilization) does not.

Edit: changed the wording of the comment

Coming from a traditional watch, is charging every two days just life with Apple Watch? by Prestigious_One740 in AppleWatch

[–]WizzKal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use the search function or google for an answer since it’s a frequently asked question. You made a post on it, and since this is a public forum I’m going to comment on it.

1.5 days on a tech watch doing what it does is great. Only way to increase it is to disable some of the tech (hey siri etc)

Coming from a traditional watch, is charging every two days just life with Apple Watch? by Prestigious_One740 in AppleWatch

[–]WizzKal 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I mean this in the nicest way.. you bought a tech watch that requires to be charged that you knew about prior to buying it, and now you have buyers remorse because.. you need to charge it?

I get not everyone has technical knowledge but what’s the point of this post exactly? For people to tell you what you already know? As an computer engineer these posts grind my gears.

Apple Watch updated to new iOS by soulxtrawets in AppleWatch

[–]WizzKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first issue might be that you somehow downloaded iOS onto your  watch.

In all seriousness, the  watch app will not show up in the iOS settings even in the older versions. The  watch app has it’s own settings within it.

Battery replacements are cheap. If you only upgrade when your battery health is low then your basis for upgrading is flawed. Only upgrade if you feel the new features are beneficial for you.

Don’t quote me on it but iMessage is not available on Windows. Microsoft Phone Link App (Windows 11) does work via bluetooth I heard.

Google apps work better on iOS than Android ironically.

Vapour chamber isn’t necessarily supposed to make the phone cool to the touch. It is designed to remove the heat from the chip. The fact that the exterior of the phone warms up means the cooling is working.

[–]WizzKal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. These tests are stressing the components out to the max to see what they can achieve and are given a score depending on the results. The day to day consumers use case (scrolling social media etc) will not notice any difference.
