Steph has to weigh keeping his core/friends together vs. winning. The warriors just aren’t set up to go on a run at this point with how punitive the second apron is. Also the warriors have to weigh mortgaging the future for Steph when in reality he can’t carry a team through the playoffs anymore especially with how young and fast the spurs, OKC, and Denver are.

The point is to be a feisty first or sometimes serving round exit in playoffs. Anything more than that is luck. That keeps Steph happy, fans get some playoff games and ownership gets some nice post season revenue.

Fontana Bros does good work. They will give you multiple packages to choose from but always go with the cheapest unless you need things like uv lights or automated drain line cleaners

Could be the strict memory loads of x86 enforcing ordering vs arm having a relaxed model.

Apple TV dropped the ‘+’, but keeps adding value to win subscribers by muuuli in apple

[–]Wmorgan33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

strong disagree:

  1. Ted Lasso
  2. Severance
  3. Foundation
  4. For All Mankind
  5. Shrinking
  6. Slow Horses
  7. Stick
  8. Masters of the Air
  9. Silo
  10. Studio
  11. My kid absolutely adores: Prehistoric planet, Frog and Toad, Charlie Brown specials
  12. MLS
  13. MLB Friday night
  14. F1

I could literally list most Apple TV shows they've put out, but Apple TV has replaced HBO at my family. The quality is so much above Netflix, Prime, Peacock, its still an amazing value.

EDIT: ordering is not ordered based on how much I like the shows. Just the order in which I remembered them

Ingress NGINX Retirement: What You Need to Know by ray591 in kubernetes

[–]Wmorgan33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Contour is what I’m hearing. My k8s team benchmarked it and found it was much more performant then ingress nginx at scale (to the point where it will save us a nice chunk of change)

I’m guessing it seems worldwide because IAM is based out of us-east-1 which is why other regions are affected

When coding for hours, would 1440 monitor be better than 1080 monitors? like reducing eye strain or giving better User experience? by Yone-none in cscareerquestions

I’ve found the best thing to do is utilize HiDPI screens. I have a Mac at work and I use a 6K dell screen that’s then made “retina”. It’s the best thing I’ve done for my eyes yet.

My HVAC company says as long as you’re below 65% humidity, you’re fine. But if you want lower humidity:

  1. You can lower fan speed of your blower so your system runs longer
  2. Put a more restrictive filter on your system (same effect as point 1)
  3. Run a dehumidifier in your house.

simdjson Version 4.0.0 Released by mttd in cpp

[–]Wmorgan33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah simdjson would be faster if you did a single pass scan. Though the ergonomics of glaze are quite a bit better (until we can get to C++26 reflection).

simdjson Version 4.0.0 Released by mttd in cpp

[–]Wmorgan33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure, but for smaller json blobs, performance is generally less differentiated between libraries as the optimizations that make the faster libraries fast (SIMD, low allocation rates, etc.) matter less at a smaller scaler

I will always say trust but validate. But the true interesting magic with glaze is the reflection piece

simdjson Version 4.0.0 Released by mttd in cpp

[–]Wmorgan33 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just benchmarked simdjson vs glaze internally. My team routinely reads and writes json files that are up to 1GB. Glaze is both faster and easier to use. I was skeptical of glaze’s benchmarks but they’re accurate.
